I recently opened an account here, but i've got a maestro card instead of a mastercard
From the app you can only choose to ADD an Mastercard,
but all i really want is only the mastercard. Is that possible without the monthly costs?

@New-Brown-Finch-2394351493#237649 There are several different plans available at bunq. Every plan has a certain monthly cost and in every plan you choose by yourself from the app which kind of card you want to order. If you received a Maestro card, then the reason for that is that you chose to order a Maestro card.
I don't know which plan you're using but if you're using the Easy Bank plan, which is the cheapest, then that includes only a single card. In order to not incur additional fees, you would need to cancel your Maestro card in the app ("block") and then order a new Mastercard.
Keep in mind at bunq Debit card means Maestro, and credit card means Mastercard. Of course, you're not actually getting a credit line, as bunq does not offer any kind of loan, so you don't have to be afraid of falling in debt when using bunq. Also, in case of the Easy Bank plan, the card production fees are only waived a single time. So if you have already used this up with your Maestro card, you would need to pay production fees (around 10 Euros one-time) for a new card.
If you want more advice then please specify what plan you have chosen and what exactly you want to do :)
@Jakob-Y#237653 Hi Jakob, I had the same question as Lisina and your answer gave some clarity. May I add few points more?
I have a "easy bank" plan and already one Maestro card.
Q1 - If I exchange it with an MasterCard, will it be linked to my bank account?
Q2- is it still only one time fee if I ask for an additional card as MasterCard?
Q2- in terms of online use (shopping, hotel or car booking etc), which option makes sense in your opinion?

Yes. Cards at bunq are simply a tool for payment. They do not hold money by themselves.
Q2- is it still only one time fee if I ask for an additional card as MasterCard?
As you already have one card, ordering an additional card will incur production fees. It will also incur monthly fees as long as you not fully delete your other card. So, yes to that.
Q3- in terms of online use (shopping, hotel or car booking etc), which option makes sense in your opinion?
For online usage, you should order a Mastercard.
@Jakob-Y#271572 Thanks for the answers. İ forgot to ask your advice on one thing more.
Is there any commonly known downside or situations that I can't use MasterCard to pay in day to day purchases.

Acceptance of Mastercard in physical stores, restaurants, etc. in The Netherlands and Belgium is not good. At least not yet. It will probably improve next year. If you live in another European country, then Mastercard should be fine also for stores.
