hi there, i tried to send money to my friend in ukraine 13 days ago through bunq and wise. the transaction was labeled as sent but never actually reached out the person’s bank account for some reason and i got a refund after 10 days. now i’m trying again but bunq doesn’t even allow me to type UA (ukrainian) IBAN, it just says it’s not supported. what the hell is going on and why now, when people are really in need there, the transfers do not work at all? thanks a lot

@shevelera#239396 On the Pay screen you have to select the change the currency if you want to send money to countries outside SEPA that do not use the Euro. If you do not switch the currency, you cannot enter UA IBANs because Ukrainian banks do not accept SEPA transfers in Euro. After choosing Switch currency then you have to select Currency not listed? Use Wise and there is the option for UAH. Then you can try it again.
As for why your earlier Wise transfer didn't go through, please contact Wise through email at bunq@wise.com or another support channel listed on their website: https://wise.com/contact Supply them with the Wise ID of your transfer and they should be able to tell you more about it.
@Jakob-Y#239397 thanks for your answer, well, my friend already received money in usd before so i tried that, and same thing happened - it didn’t allow me to write the IBAN. now i also have a useless USD account, how can i transfer the money back to my euro account?
figured it out… super not convenient

@shevelera#239398 If you have a USD local currency sub-account at bunq, then you can send money to an Ukrainian bank account that accepts incoming USD transfers. Just open to USD local currency account, tap on Pay, enter the amount that you want to send in USD and on the next screen, choose New recipient (do not choose Enter IBAN here). There you can then choose Ukraine at the top where it says Recipient country and go from there. Please note the additional fees that apply for sending SWIFT transfers in this manner, they're all in the Pricing Document on the website. Also the recipient might incur fees for receiving SWIFT transfers at their bank.
If you do not want to use the USD local currency sub-account and you still have a balance on it, just select it, then tap on More at the bottom and choose Exchange to move the USD back on one of your Euro sub-accounts.
