@Nicky-Lime-Butterfly#240511 That's still visible (on Android at least)! In the right bottom corner you can see the account to which the card is connected.
@thijsoost#240602 Maybe it’s an iOS issue only then? On iOS the CVC is shown in the right bottom corner.
@Nicky-Lime-Butterfly#240625 Ah, yes then there's a difference between the Android and iOS apps
@Nicky-Lime-Butterfly#240511 Glad to hear you love the new Folders feature, we spent lots of time making sure it works and feels just like what you're used to when using IOS. Showing the card linked sub-account was something that we carefully considered, and from UI/UX testing it didn't really fit into the IOS way of doing of things, giving far too many pressable buttons on the same screen and giving a cluttered feel.
We didn't want to take this functionality away though, so we added linked sub-account options to the Context Menu on cards. If you long press a card on the home screen, you can see the linked sub-account immediately and change it from that menu easily. Combined with speeding up the loading time for cards, its now faster to find a cards linked sub-account than in the previous 19.x versions from opening the app.
@David-Brown-Kiwi#240659 I get the theory, but in practice the icon was really handy to have. It doesn’t need to be a button, just the icon of the linked account.
To extend on my answer a bit: seeing all the cards and having an overview to see which cards are linked to which account was really handy. That is lost with the new ui.
But I totally get that you don’t want to make the view too cluttered. Especially since the cards got thinner, it’s hard to show an additional action there. :)
I agree with Nick, this is one of the features that sets bunq apart from other banks and one I use quite frequently, seeing or being able to switch the attached account shouldn’t be hidden away
@Nick-Turquoise-Butterfly#240680 Sehe ich genauso!!!
Bitte unbedingt auf iOS wieder direkt in der Übersicht sichtbar+veränderbar machen! Das sind jetzt 2-3 Taps mehr, weniger Übersicht und nichts gewonnen
Same here !
@David-Brown-Kiwi#240659
I find myself regularly verifying if the card is linked to the correct account. Usually when I'm in a shop about to use Apple Pay. Perhaps I'm trying to solve a problem that I created in the first place. 😇
In any case, I took David's words in (as well as others) and iterated on it as it is an interaction puzzle for me. You can start at the last image and read backwards if you want to save time.
Q1: Why is the app showing Maestro's CVC and 16-digit number? What is its purpose? If there is none in the Netherlands, is there a use case somewhere else? (I understand the use case with Mastercard, but do not with Maestro.)
Q2: In mockup 3 a non-universal solution is discussed. In general, does bunq have public guidelines when non-universal solutions have a right to exist and when they don't? For example, non-universal solutions based on country might sometimes be required due to different national laws. In this case the non-universal solution is not rooted in law or regulation, but potentially regionalized usage patterns. Any information about how bunq decides when something is viable and when it is not, is welcome. (I picked up one point: UX testing; but this also entails what to test and what not to test.) [Fyi, I am curious about this in general; regardless of this specific Mock-up 3 which has its own pro's and con's.]
Q3: Would you even want this 'tile-link' informing you of the active linked sub-account? Does it solve your need(s)?
Q4: Would you prefer the linked tile being swapped (Mockup 8) or operate independently of the other tiles? (Mockup 7)
@Joeri-Silver-Lynx#246926 Nice design, and good questions!
@thijsoost#246927 Thanks. - If you or anyone could share a picture of the Android's card tile implementation, that would be great. I cannot find it due to ambigious search terms. - Fair warning, if you screenshot it yourself from a live account, you should cut or black out the numbers.
@Joeri-Silver-Lynx#246928 Sure!
@thijsoost#246929 You're fast 😁! Jeetje... wat ziet dat er netjes uit. - Yeez, this is practically the first time I witness the Android version and it looks great.
Am I correct that the Android app does not show the CVC code by default (like this iOS app does)? I see you've blurred out the last 4 digits of the card-number nicely, but it seems there is no CVC to begin with. That is not a setting, right? That just the way it is on Android?
Am I also correct in understanding every card tile has two buttons? The major part and the tiny right button corner? Or is that only an indicator and not a button?
I wish there was a clickable demo online for the bunq app, for iOS and Android. For every release ;).
Thanks for sharing!
@Joeri-Silver-Lynx#246931 1) Correct! The Android app doesn't show the CVC code on the card tile, unfortunately. Can't be changed.
2) Yes! If you tap the small account indicator on the card tile, you can quickly change to which account the card is connected to, without having to go deeper into the card settings
@thijsoost#246932 Interesting! Learning so much. 😉
You said 'unfortunately'. I was about to give a rant about the [redundant] CVC code at iOS. You see, I cannot [instantly] think of a use case in which it makes sense to see the CVC code at a glance. You always need the date too, so you need to go deeper anyway. So what would be the benefit of seeing it at glance versus going and fetching it like the other card information you need anyway?
Thinking... thinking...
3DS verification changed the use case anyway.
Wait, it might be for physical cards. You could have the date and debit card number on the card and you would need to fetch the CVC from the app for which the glance-CVC use case could be a solution. However, for Maestro cards that might be a stretch.
Naive remark: We uses physical cards anymore?
Do you know of any use case iOS's CVC-on-the-cards might be useful?
@Joeri-Silver-Lynx#246933 For me quickly seeing the CVC code is useful, because the card number and expiration date are in my password manager (Dashlane)! So when I have to enter my card details, I only need the CVC code from the bunq app, nothing more. So the quicker I can find it, the better I guess
That's only for online payments indeed, when I'm buying something somewhere I use Google Pay, not a physical card.
But that all applies to Mastercards; the card number and CVC for Maestro cards are useless in my opinion
