  • Who else loves the new Jackpot feature?

@Vincent-9870#241168 It is an incentive to save, not a charity and thus pretty much in line with any form of investment. The actual benefit is getting other people to join bunq.

    @JohnDo#241043 I agree in part: 30k per month equal to a product manager, a senior and a junior dev and one or two support staff. Probably more beneficial for this perspective. On the other hand, these kinds of lotteries are pretty common and provide incentives for using bunq and not just having it, I suppose.

      Die Jackpot-Funktion finde ich ganz nett, so lange es ein kostenfreies Feature bleibt. Nice to have, aber cashback z.B. auf Kartenzahlungen wäre noch etwas interessanter

        @New-Red-Dolphin-2892653544#241339 I am ambivalent towards the jackpot feature, but what bothers me is the unclear strategy in developing bunq further. IMHO they got lost in their strategy and product roadmap planning. Bunq should lead the Neo bank pack, not shine with beta versions which have obvious transactional problems (-> in banking there can’t be a beta related to transactions, only to usability). We need real innovation in the area of investments, user experience of the app as well as designs of cards, cashbacks etc. - a long list. Otherwise bunq is falling back behind the other Neo banks. Maybe bunq grew too fast and is now in a state where they have structural problems like support etc. Just my impression. I hope they wing it and return to the path of leading the pack again. Fingers crossed.

              I think it’s a great feature but I do understand your opinion. It’s just sounding like we are paying every month for entering the lottery without having a choice. Maybe they need to add a feature where you pay less (like €1/month) when not wanting to enter the jackpot feature?

                @RickNL#241437 where you pay less (like €1/month)

                When you think about how many users are at bunq, it's like a few cents of the monthly fee at most that is going into refinancing the Jackpot. I gotta admit I'm personally not a huge fan of participating in games of chances, but 360k/year is not a huge sum for bunq, so I could imagine considering its marketing potential it may just be a no-brainer. Especially if it doesn't just lead to more users but also the users more actively using bunq. I definitely like it better than the "get 10 Euros per new user" campaign that they did a few years ago, this feels more sustainable.

                  @Jakob-Y#241443 I feel you! That is correct and I think in that wat it’s a nice new feature.

                    Totally agree - fishy and weird as hell. I don’t need/want a lottery in my bank.

                      Le jackpot l’air

                        @Tesseract#241064 Hope they add new countries… 🇮🇹😩

                          I don’t hate the idea of a jackpot, but it feels out of touch for what users want to see implemented.

                          I mean, Revolut and N26 users get so many opportunities for cash back, discounts, and insurances. Why can’t Bunq implement things like that instead of giving away €10,000 per month?

                            Can I please downvote this push notification? I want to keep notifications enabled for my banking app but not if they’re going to send spam… 😵‍💫

                              @Ian-Olive-Llama#241752 Agreed, tried to find an opt-out but once again trouble finding such a thing. As a recovering gambling addict I really don't appreciate this message about increasing my odds (or the jackpot option at all for that matter)

                                There is no such thing as FREE MONEY. Don’t want to be part of this. Sorry

                                  @Ian-Olive-Llama#241752 The notification alone is a reason to close my account. This isn’t candy crush!
