  • Account Number and branch code

Branche Code. Some Banks ask for that. What can I fill in? And where can I see my Account Number. I dont mean the IBAN. I mean the Account Number. Thanks a lot 🐥

@New-Ivory-Woodchuck-1315270257#242152 Nowadays it's technically not needed to give any other information that the IBAN, so I would make sure with the sender/other person that this information is really necessary. If it's a bank, they should also have no issue extracting this information by themselves just from the IBAN.

But here's how to do it yourself if it's really necessary:

    • BIC: Use the one that is displayed when tapping on the IBAN or reference this topic.
    • How to extract account number or branch code depends on the country of your IBAN:
      • For NL IBANs: account number is the last 10 digits of the IBAN. Bank code is BUNQ. No branch codes.
      • For DE IBANs: account number is the last 10 digits of the IBAN. Bank code is 37019000. No branch codes.
      • For FR IBANs: Bank code is digit 5 to 9. Branch code is digit 10 to 14. Account number is digit 15 to 25. (Note: don't use last two digits of the IBAN).
      • For ES IBANs: Bank code is digit 5 to 8. Branch code is digit 9 to 12. Account number is digit 15 to 24. (Note: don't use digits 13 and 14.)

P.S. The initialism IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number. It's internationally unique and identifies your bank account.

Hey Super! Auch sehr ausführlich informativ. Ich danke dir 💚
