@Job#39804 I agree..., some more insight about the legalities involved would be nice.

Yeah
I would prefer it if investment would be kept to a minimum. Because for trading or investments you need additional employees that also like would to receive a monthly wage. Costs will increase vary rapidly..
And who bears the risks of these investment/trading operations? Everyone, or only the ones that would like their money see invested? Who get the proceeds? Are they put on a separate account, so they can be used to lower the subscription rates annually?

Not if bunq just facilitates its users investing through third parties. Also, offering the possibility of investing through bunq is likely to make the service more attractive to a larger audience. Hence a rise in paying customers is likely as well, which would even out any increase in costs on bunq's side (if there is any).

The risk should be with those that choose to risk their money by investing it, then automatically (1) the proceeds should go to the people taking the risk and (2) there is no risk for bunq.
@Job#39804 I still see comments as if bunq will provide some kind of investment or savings option.. but that isn't the case.
The only thing that will happen is that bunq will setup an investment portfolio (in line with rules and regulations). Normally a bank would invest how they see fit.. in whatever they want. The only thing what will change from a users perspective is that you well be able to choose where bunq will invest your money in. You wont getting interest of something like that... but you do get a very good night sleep because you know your money is supporting something you like! (with zero risk for you)
Much prefer my money stalled with the DNB (central dutch bank) I have no belief what so ever in the ECB (just looking at the stupid way the use Q easing) ECB holds no trust for me....
What about short term AAA bonds?
Bunq could attract large euro depositors if it gave an option to have funds held in a AAA rated Euro liquidity fund. This would be similiar to how the broker Degiro holds all clients funds in the AAA rated JPM Euro liquidity fund (ISIN LU0103814108). I dont mind current negative euro interest rates if I knew money I hold above 100k is held safely where all institutional investors hold their excess cash - it just means with current negative interest rates on the fund I am paying insurance and can sleep at night. Please check out how Degiro does it as it works well.
@GeorgeBoot#39402 Hear hear! I would like this system, especially when there are Green categories and when I can set percentages for each category.
This could become the best saving account ever: never having to book to saving account and back to checking account!
Set maximum amount for ECB (e.g. 1000 euro), above that amount invest in Green funds of your choosing ๐๐!
@JohnDo#39833 Ah that wasn't clear to me... I thought you were looking for suggestions as to "what users can do with their money", not limited to "just" storing it in a different place than the ECB. I think the way you guys are approaching this is still a great idea although I do think that a big opportunity lies in the possibility to invest from your bunq app.
The only downside of bunq, to me, is the fact that I need another financial services provider if I want my savings to work for me rather than "sit still". Either way, I think all bunq users agree it should be an ethical/sustainable investment portfolio that makes the world a better place.
I would like to have my money work harder for me by giving loans to underprivileged people
The possibility to have stocks in Adyen, as they a listed company since June. And with the ROI to invest in bunq. Or maybe options and futures for that matter.
Another idea might be to CFDs, as BUX does. Or maybe even to coorporate with BUX.
Just a few ideas ๐
Green, sustainable, cradle to cradle startups or new business.๐ฟ
I read so many requests for storing in cryptocurrency. Please donโt do this... itโs not a stable market and just โstoring money thereโ means the complete value of all this money can half from one day to the next... this would be fine if it were personal risks, but although people can pick what they want to invest in, if half the people pick something risky it puts the whole of bunq at risk.
@Simon1989#39410 You can also send your money to me, with bitcoin is wil also be gone soon as wel :)
I have earned %50 percent from US tech company ETFs in the last 18 months. There are also similar options in Europe. I think we also need an investment account like option here.
@Onur-Azure-Shark#39875 It's not about speculations (this is what you've done here). It's about investments.
