  • Jackpot : how to switch it off?

@Elio#242866 Exactly.
Some banks give 3% cashbacks on cardpayments and others €100 for every approved invite... But bunq uses their marketingbudget for the jackpot 😉

    @Elio#242866 If the product is free, it's probably me who is the product, so no for me.

    Also, I just strongly disagree with any form of gambling and this looks a whole lot like it

      @boterbram#242878 It’s a marketing campaign, I prefer a company of which I am a customer to reward me for bringing on new customers instead of giving rewards to new customers only 🤷🏼‍♂️

        @Elio#242880 The thing is, you won’t be rewarded. And neither will Bram or me. The chances are simply to small.

        A guaranteed reward, in any form, would be very welcome indeed for active and loyal customers, but this is just an illusion.

        Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind winning the money. It’s just not going to happen. Which makes the push notifications very annoying. I’ll just turn those off.

          @Michiel#242903 Not sure which one it is though… Probably “activities” under notifications.

            I also find the notifications for every. single. jackpot. round. incredibly spammy.

            I find the whole concept of bunq doing a jackpot like this a bit dumb, and I really think they could/should be putting their limited resources into other areas of the business (cough support cough) but at the same time I wouldn’t say no to 10000€ 😅

            I just don’t wanna get a push notification for every round. I would of course want a notification if I win (actually an email would probably be better), but otherwise I’d like to not be disturbed.

            Please @bunq, add a new ‘Jackpot’ category to the notifications settings and allow us to turn the notifications off, without having to withdraw from the jackpot itself!

              @Michiel#242903 Fair enough, but I mean there’s worse destinations for a marketing budget so I just do not get the overall negativity. If people find it annoying it’s one button to switch it off 🤷🏼‍♂️

                @Elio#242866 Wat een onzin. Dit is gewoon spam.

                  @Elio#242866 We didn’t ask for it, it’s reasonable to think it can’t even bé turned off and it’s so dreadful to then look up how to turn it off when most of these shitnotifications aren’t even able to be turned off in most apps, so it should be off by default instead of the other way around. Dark marketing we call this.

                    @Andreas-Willemse#242913 1 notificatie per week voor 3 maanden 😂😂😂

                      Maargoed, ieder zn mening

                        @Elio#242920 I tend to minimize the number of notifications in general, so when I get one it actually is worth it to look at my phone.

                        Getting a “bunq jackpot” notification which is actually a disappointment every week is the opposite of that. It is actual spam to get you to do something that is in bunq’s interest, not the users.

                        Good for you that you don’t care, but in my opinion it is weird that my banking app is pushing this without an opt-in.

                          Ich hoffe es machen irgendwann alle den Regler auf „aus“, dann gewinne ich auf jeden Fall 😄

                            Even the push notifications seem lazily implemented. Why three notifications that are exactly the same. Stop spamming me please.
