  • Obfuscation of accout balancs on list screen

When looking at my list view of bank accounts I, of course, have my savings account among them. I think it would be cool to add the ability to hide the amount of money that is in a bank account as shown from the main bank accounts screen so that, for example in my case, one could hide their savings account balance (of course I know my savings balance).

This is feature that would primarily be about privacy, protecting against the over-the-shoulder attack.

I'm curious what people think :)

I think you shouldn't open apps with sensitive data when you are on crowded public places to begin with.

But if it must, and want to hide the balance of one account, just create a handful of new empty accounts, and drag your savings account to the bottom. Then it won't show up unless you scroll down.

@Eben-Magenta-Lion#38665 Short term solution : open a few accounts, leave them 0 and move your savings account to the bottom of the list such that it won’t show up when you open your account list. (Edit: what @Dennis#38674 just posted while I was typing lol...)

However: an option to hide active accounts from the overview screen such as ING has (pressing the πŸ‘ symbol allows to select/deselect what to see and what not) would be cool.

@Arjan#38675 Yeah exactly something like this. I've got my savings account all the way at the bottom of my list for this very reason. But BUNQ is a banking app and having an option available to hide your information even if you're logged in probably isn't the most far-fetched idea

Maybe bunc can also introduce a dual pincode for the app. Than you can assign what accounts you want to see with each app pincode. That way you can just leave out savings or private accounts with the second pincode. One should also assign which 'profile' is each when a biometric (fingerprint, face scan, voice, etc) login is used..

@Davy-Yellow-Bear#38690 I think, with the recent update, and bunq simplifying the app, so the more mainstream users can understand it - I doubt they'll be adding complicated layers like this to the login process.

Even I think what you are describing is unnecessarily complicated, and I consider myself quite tech savvy, and I'm an early adopter as well.

I remember from very early days at bunq (v1) that we had this feature. Some users enabled it without knowing about it and got worried about where their money/accounts had gone.

As the feature was hardly used and caused this confusion we decided to remove it entirely. Perhaps to be reintroduced at some point πŸ™‚

@Eben-Magenta-Lion#38678 Did you know that you can select which accounts are shown in the total balance? There is a pencil button on the right and there you can select which accounts are used in the total.

@JeroenE#38767 Yes thank you. I've luckily stumbled upon that feature a while. It's a great way of having an aggregate number that shows how much is left for the month

                    4 months later

@Pain-blue-quokka#38694 Thats sad. Over at ABN Amro customers can select which account is visible in the main area and which are not. Would be really lovely to see this feature.
