JakobProdigy@magic#247446 As a German living in Germany, I'm using the NL IBAN for nearly 3 years now for everything: salary, gym, utilities, rent, insurance, authorities, taxes etc. -- it's not a problem at all. So your blanket statement might be a bit too... blanket. That said, of course you can just use the DE IBAN that bunq is offering you. I've not seen a reason to do so until now, and the NL is shorter and easier to memorize :D
ManishaRookie@Jakob-Y#247457 It's not Blanket statement, i went to the O2 shop to get postpaid connection, there system doesn't take the IBAN other den DE, so one cannot take Postpaid Mobile connection, my company cannot transfer a salary if i do not have DE IBAN no. But again problem here is the bug in the app, what I suppose to get is DE IBAN considering all my details are in German, address, rental agreement, Visa....so not sure how I can resolve that!!

But yeah, you said "you can't pay for anything or receive salary" -- if that would even be half true, then me being alive now after 3 years would be quite the feat. That's why it's a blanket statement in my opinion. In any case, it's not an issue at bunq because you can just get a DE IBAN.

ManishaRookie@Jakob-Y#247461 My Dear Jakob, unfortunately it seems your half truth is my full truth, many places they have Machines which take a card payment only from German bank account, some places only take cash and some places take other banks like train ticket or some backeries but truth be told that you never know when surprise hits you that any establishment only takes German card so it's always a hastle , having a German bank account avoids that emabarrasmen t!!

JakobProdigy@magic#247464 Err, you having a DE IBAN at bunq does not change anything about your payment cards. Card acceptance always depends on the card scheme (for example Mastercard or Maestro, but in Germany there's also the domestic girocard card scheme). If you're at an establishment that only accepts girocard cards, then these kinds of cards will be the only ones that'll work there, unrelated to what kind of bank account you have.
That being said, indeed store clerks or restaurant staff usually have no idea at all about these things, so asking will usually not lead to any fruitful answers. They will say that it'll probably work when it doesn't and also the other way around.

MarkusWizard@magic#247446 That’s IBAN discrimination and forbidden by European law. You can simply give all institutions a hint to this fact, if they don’t accept your NL IBAN. People used bunq for years with NL IBANs in Germany until bunq introduced de IBANs, just like Jakob told you he did.
Nonetheless, if you having problems creating DE IBAN as a German resident you should contact bunq Support in the app by following these steps:

JakobProdigy@New-Rose-Goat-3612727979#247854 Hallo Ralf, wenn du Geld an eine interne IBAN überweist, das nicht zugeordnet werden kann, dann kommt es automatisch wieder zurück. Das kann natürlich ein paar Werktage dauern, weil das Geld erst bei bunq ankommen muss und dann wieder zurückgeschickt wird. Wenn du nach einer Woche das Geld nicht wiedererhalten hast, wende dich am besten an den Support. Sollte aber normalerweise nicht nötig sein, das kommt öfters mal vor und bisher hat immer noch jeder das Geld wieder zurückbekommen.

JakobProdigy@New-Rose-Goat-3612727979#247875 Die Überweisungslaufzeiten des Interbanken-Systems kann bunq leider auch nicht beschleunigen. Die Rücküberweisung wird automatisiert und sofort veranlasst, das Geld ist bei bunq also nur wenige Sekunden. Trotzdem bedeuten zwei Überweisungen in der Regel eine Wartezeit von 2-3 Werktagen.

Kommt davon wenn man schnell machen will. Und nicht nach seiner Iban schaut sondern als Vorlage die Iban benutzt habe wo bunq mir von bankkonto abgebucht haben.
