• How can I add my bunq account to PayPal?

Hello.

It's been a few weeks since I've been trying to add my Bunq IBAN account to PayPal.
From the PayPal website itself it won't let me add it. (Screenshot attached)

From the PayPal app, I can easily add the IBAN, I get the mandate confirmation, but over 3 weeks, still waiting for the PayPal deposit in order to confirm the bank account.

I don't think it's a Bunq issue, since I actually added my Mastercard (Bunq) and it works, but since we lost the ability to reroute payments, I prefer to play it safe and use my IBAN.

    That's weird, I have linked my bunq IBAN to PayPal a few weeks ago.

        After a lot of back and forth with PayPal, they claim they don't support Bunq, since it's a virtual/prepaid bank (?).
        They said I could verify my account sending some money, and after 9 days, money arrived to them, without my name. Now I can't add my account at all. Tried a few using both the app and website (PayPal one) and I only get this message:
        We're sorry. We're not able to process your request right now. Please try again later.

          @LeonElPanda#44787 bunq has a full European Banking License. I don't understand how they dare to say such strange things such as prepaid bank, they are not just some payment provider without a banking license. I gotta say PayPal just keeps getting more stupid and arrogant every day.😝

            I just replied, and play the whole IBAN discrimination card. If not, I'll contact BaFIN in Germany.

              Maybe you could try the next thing, go back in the app, tap your profile picture and then Edit in the right top. You will see "Legal name". Change this to your full first name + surname instead of first letter + surname. This is a new feature for users outside The Netherlands where that is the standard.

              Now export a statement from the IBAN you would like to use, it will now show your full name and should suffice for verification in your current correspondence with PayPal. Maybe mention bunq is a full EU bank too and not just some payment service. πŸ™‚

              Also when adding the bunq IBAN from the website did you change the country to NL, otherwise it won't accept the IBAN due to a different format?

                    It took me ages to delete my ABN account from paypal.

                      @LeonElPanda#44793 Have you tried to add the MasterCard to PayPal?
                      I have a German Paypal Account and had no problems adding my bunq Mastercard as funding source and also have my IBAN Account activated for direct debits. But the difference could be, my Paypal Account was already verified through another bank, when adding the bunq IBAN.
                      So, Paypal should also work in principle with bunq...

                          Also added my bunq account in the past, without any problems.

                          I just added an other bunq account to check if it's still working, let's find out πŸ™‚

                            Today, 2 days later, i've received the two check amounts on my bunq-account.
                            With this two amounts i've confirmed my bunq account on PayPal.

                              @Bastiaan#45135 Me too, I also tested it again. The verification amounts arrived today.

                                I had no issues connecting my paypal to my bunq account. Yes, the confirmation deposits took a while to arrive.

                                  I remember that I had issues in the past connecting my account to paypal. I solved it by using the paypal app. For some reason that worked for me
