Suspicious SMS / phishing message received
I received the text message in Dutch. So it's quite suspicious that they are actually sending it to bunqers in the right language. Perhaps our numbers and some data have been leaked?

@Dominicr#257153 Hi Dominic! Since your phone number is connected to your bunq account, it's also easy to see if someone's phone number is connected to a bunq account. For example, I can easily see who of my contacts has a bunq account and who doesn't. That's also how the scammers do it. They just pick random phone numbers and check if it's connected to a bunq account.
If there had been a leak at bunq, it would have been reported to the Dutch Data Protection Authority ('Authoriteit Persoonsgegevens)'. However, this is not the case. By the way, all users receive the message in Dutch! Also the non-Dutch users.
@thijsoost#257154 Yeah cheers I just read a post of someone stating this too. Don't know if this is such a handy feature if they can "social engineer" what kind of bank I have. Luckily I double checked. But I'm not surprised if people slip up like this. Especially seeing that I'm sure their messaging will be much more convincing in the future

@Dominicr#257155 It's important that users realise two things:
- Bunq will never contact you about important information via SMS, only via the secure in-app chat.
- Bunq only uses the domains bunq.com, bunq.me and bunq.app. All other domains are fake.
As long as everyone keeps those two things in mind, they should be save, no matter the phishing message.

@Nick-Lime-Badger#257171 Bedankt voor het melden! Ik heb dit domein bij de hostingprovider gemeld als phishing.
Yes, got one as well. Thanks for the info!
Bericht ook ontvangen.
Hoe weten ze dat wij bunqers zijn. Zijn onze telefoonnummers gelekt ?

@Jean-Paul-Aquamarine-Unicorn#257175 Hoi Jean-Paul!
Top, thank you for warning us, i get it yet

Hi,
this time I did not get any … yet. What I usually do I add the sender to the block list.
I think it helps to filer out these nasty SMSs.

@JohnDo#253136 what happen if you click the link?
JakobProdigy
@Serendipity#275725 There are various different possible attacks. Generally it's unwise to open websites from untrusted third-parties, because you don't know what might happen and if and what kind of attack they might try to carry out.
The most common attack vector however is a simple phishing attack. In that case they would probably try to get you to enter your bunq account information like your security code etc. on their page. But as the nature of these attacks might always change, it's best to heed John's advice: don't click on any links in the first place. Instead open the bunq app manually by yourself and navigate to whatever part of it it is that you wanted to go to.

@Adrianus-Indigo-Hummingbird#288844 Hey there! Thank you for sharing this 🙌 Please report this at https://bunq.com/report 🙏
You report will help us catch cases like this and make sure they don't happen again 💪 In the meantime, we suggest blocking this phone number to avoid receiving similar messages. More info on how to prevent future phishing attacks can be found here: http://together.bunq.com/d/19654 📚
It has come to our attention that fraudsters are sending those SMS to a lot of people, not specifically to bunq users, so it is possible that they do not locate your bank by your phone number, but it is always a good idea to be careful.
