What is the bank key? I recently opened the bunq account to get my salary in Dublin, Ireland. My employer portal requires a “bank key” to submit my bunq account details. Note: Tried google.. no luck so far

Hi 👋 there,
From what I could check on the Internet looks like the Bank Key is something used in accounting systems in Ireland for specific banks, like Bank of Ireland.
My guess is that your employee did not set up yet bunq in their systems correctly and hence requesting the key.
I would first contact your employer for details.
If you get an answer would be great if you update this thread.
Good luck 🍀

@New-Grey-Peccary-1390653953#252669 Hi Mathivanan, here's how Irish IBANs are structured. They have 22 characters in total.
Maybe that helps? I'm not sure what "bank key" refers to but I suspect it's either BUNQ or 990385.
Thanks for the responses.. I tried BUNQ and 990385.. also tried other combinations but not working out.. one site in google search mentioned that it would be a unique 6 digit code for Ireland.. but no info on how to get it.. I have asked more details from my employer.. but no response yet..
@New-Grey-Peccary-1390653953#252703 Maybe the system from your employer does not have 990385 in their database yet. The Irish IBANs from bunq are relatively new.
@Jakob-Y#252710 Yes .. I suspect the same
@New-Grey-Peccary-1390653953#252721 Just fyi: the official website from BPFI has an entry for bunq in their system. See here: https://sortcode.bpfi.ie
