  • Creating sub account ‘bank like a local’ not working

Experiencing this issue since mid March 2022 (4 months ago), support tells me there is a technical issue and they are aware of this issue. Has any one encountered this issue as well on a business account?

This is when I get the error: After the step when you give a name to the sub account for a foreign currency we get the error that there is no phone number present in our profile. But there is a phone number present (this was also verified by support).

I have the feeling that it’s just me and there is something going on with our business account. But please anyone let me know if you have the same issue.

Just experienced the same issue. Cannot open a new account with the same phone number issue.

Update from my side. After some time in my case the local account will be created in spite of the “error”. And I could very by converting some amount to the local currency. So in my case this was just false positive.

i have this issue on personal
account. support told me that i have to wait for them
to fix in new update. it’s been 2 months now.

@ramiro#253718 Unfortunately, it seems that the local currency accounts are complex, and not easy to fix. Since bunq is aware of the issue, I'm sure they're working on it. Local currencies accounts are not a very urgent feature, so maybe it's not at the top of their list to fix when there are more urgent issues that need their attention first.

Wow, i genuinely thought this was a alert on my bunq app rather then a screenshot in a post. This can lead to phishing problems.

@Matthijs-Violet-Wolf#253747 The screenshot posted here is a bunq error. How can that lead to pishing? You can't even tap the buttons because it's a screenshot.

@thijsoost#253748 I know, I know. But if you tap on one of the buttons your blog posts opens. This post could contain a external link.

@Matthijs-Violet-Wolf#253749 I don't see any danger here. Besides, the posts on Together are monitored by moderators and bunq employees, the chance you seeing a pishing link here is very small. Besides, opening a Together post doesn't mean you're automatically clicking links, right? After you opened the post you immediately notice you're opening a post.

@thijsoost#253750 New or non-tech savvy users might not. Such phishing attacks would target just a small group of users. Not the 99% who would be able to tell it was a post.

@thijsoost#253750 Nur mal so als Rückmeldung: Ich habe eben ein Konto in Norwegischen Kronen erstellt. Keine 4 Minuten und das Konto war da.

@Bernd-Cyan-Penguin#253782 So it's working for some users. Good to know!

                              a month later

For the people that still have this issue. I fixed this myself by making sure I have a phone number and e-mail adres connected, also turn on “show local currency” in the settings.
