  • Kaart activeren en betalen voor het eerst

Hallo, ik wil mijn pas voor het eerst gebruiken. Alleen de pinautomaat geeft “magneetstrip geweigerd” aan. Is mijn pas nog niet actief?

    Should look like this:

    After you have paid with Chip&PIN once, then you can pay also contactless by holding your card next to the reader. But you cannot pay with magnet stripe.

          @thijsoost#255630 Ja want als ik in het begin overzicht op de pas druk zie ik onderaan “Deactiveer” pas, en ik heb bij het activeren ook al een pincode aangemaakt

            Gebruikte je ook de Maestro pas? Of de Mastercard pas?

                @New-Orange-Ibex-2815093398#255633 Ah, dan zit daar de oorzaak waarschijnlijk! De Mastercard wordt op veel plekken in Nederland niet geaccepteerd. In Nederland kan je beter de Maestro pas gebruiken.

                    @New-Orange-Ibex-2815093398#255635 In Hongarije kan je beter wel een Mastercard gebruiken inderdaad, die wordt daar het meeste geaccepteerd! Maar in Nederland dan weer niet, hier worden Maestropassen gebruikt.

                    Als je de pas wilt proberen zul je in Nederland op zoek moeten gaan naar een winkel die Mastercards ondersteunt, helaas zijn dit er niet veel. Toevallig weet ik dat de Decathlon ze wel ondersteunt.

                      Oke dan gok ik het er wel op en probeer het in Hongarije, dankjewel

                          The cards are usable worldwide. Of course, in many countries only Mastercard is popular, so make sure to take a Mastercard instead of your Maestro card which you're currently still using in The Netherlands.

                              @New-Blue-Deer-2702902833#255714 Zorg ervoor dat je je pas ook buiten Europa activeert! In de instellingen van je pas kan je kiezen in welke landen deze werkt.

                                @thijsoost#255717 Hallo Thijs als ik het goed heb gedaan is mijn kaart geldig in 52 landen . Ben niet de jongste dus alles is wat onwennig voor mij en ondertussen heb ik ook al gelezen dat Apple Pay niet in alle landen bruikbaar is

                                  Easy example: While Apple Pay is not supported in Turkey by any Turkish banks, you can still use your Dutch bunq cards through Apple Pay when you're visiting Turkey on holiday. In every store that accepts contactless Mastercard payments. You should probably still take your plastic cards with you, because not every merchant might have a terminal like this.
