Location restrictions
Apple Pay is available for bunq users in bunqers who reside in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, or Austria.
It's also important to ensure that the region setting on your iPhone device matches your country of residence. Additionally, the bunq card you wish to use with Apple Pay must be ordered from and registered to your country of residence.
Authentication problems
If you're having issues setting up Apple, it could be due to authentication settings. Please check and adjust these in your phone's settings.
PIN required
Normally, you don't need to enter a PIN code because your identity is verified through biometrics like Face ID and fingerprint. However, in some rare cases, a terminal might ask for one.
If this happens, don't worry! According to Apple's Support Center, you can simply enter any four digits, like 0000, to proceed with your purchase.
NFC settings
Make sure the NFC toggle of your phone is enabled so your phone can communicate with the payment terminal successfully.
