@New-Champagne-Sloth-1409262243#257396 A SEPA transfer can take up to 1-2 business days, so weekends and holidays do not count. Bunq handles all outgoing transactions as instant transfers.
The incoming transaction depends on the bank which made the transaction, it usually doesn’t take longer than 1-2 business days for me either.

    🌈 Maybe this helps:

If the transaction doesn’t arrive in 1-2 business days you can also contact bunq Support in the app by following these steps:

    1. Go to Profile
    2. Tap on Settings ⚙️in the right corner on top
    3. Scroll to the bottom, tap on Need help? Get Support, then choose Personal Support

@pqckmqn#257397 De bank werkt 7 dagen per week.

@New-Champagne-Sloth-1409262243#257398 That’s sadly not true. Regular SEPA transactions are not handled on weekends.

@New-Champagne-Sloth-1409262243#257400 Wanna hear something real spooky? 👻 The darn thing (TARGET2 system) is even closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday every year: https://www.ecb.europa.eu/paym/target/target2/html/index.en.html

If you send money on Thursday evening before Easter from a bank that doesn‘t send it as an instant payment but as regular SEPA transfer like ING, then you can even think about doing a hiking trip yourself to deliver it instead and it might be faster 🏕️

Friend, from Dutch bank to Dutch bank it takes five seconds. Day of the week does not matter. Sometimes the transaction fails, so you have to send it again till it sticks.

@New-Raspberry-Toad-851213403#257404 That’s only if the transaction was handled as SEPA instant transfer, which is not always the case. Regular SEPA transactions are handled within 1-2 business days, they even can take 3 business days from time to time.

@New-Raspberry-Toad-851213403#257404 Not really true. You can check what banks are connected to which instant payment systems here: https://www.betaalvereniging.nl/betalingsverkeer/instant-payments/deelnemende-banken-instant-payments/

If banks are not connected to the same system, the payment will never be instant. Doesn‘t matter if the transfer is domestic or international. However, even if a bank is connected to a certain system, some banks will not use it for outgoing payments and only accept incoming payments.

bunq always sends and receives instant payments on both the two major European instant payment networks: TIPS and RT1. That means instant payments in most cases for payments throughout whole of Europe. But some Dutch banks indeed are not yet sending instant payments to bunq. For what reason exactly is anyone‘s guess.

@pqckmqn#257405 From ABN Amro to Bunq it never took more than a minute. Sometimes the money were automatically returned since the transaction failed. In this case I simply sent the money again.

@New-Raspberry-Toad-851213403#257407 Yep, ABN Amro is one of the better Dutch banks when it comes to instant payments. They are connected to RT1 and they also use it for outgoing payments. That‘s why the money should arrive instantly at bunq when sending from ABN Amro 😃

                            @New-Champagne-Sloth-1409262243#257400 Yep

@pqckmqn#257399 thats insane and should be prohibited by law. whats are the bank excuses not beeing able to process sepa transactions on sat and sun?

@rekkaBsinneD#257415 They do, if the transaction is handled as instant SEPA. Some banks like bunq do this automatically, some others charge a fee for the usage and the transactions are regularly handled as standard SEPA. @Jakob-Y already posted the information about the TARGET2 system, you can read more there about it.

Markus changed the title to How long does my transaction take to arrive?.
