John Do I guess that a lot of people are reading the terms like they are now and see that they can be held liable for 50 euro. So if bunq would just wrote there is no liability for unauthorised transactions using NFC on the card then nobody would actually be worried about this anymore.
I've checked the "Algemene voorwaarden" of the ABN AMRO and I can't find anywhere that they will refund NFC transactions in case your card is lost or stolen. You can find the Dutch version here: https://www.abnamro.nl/nl/images/Generiek/PDFs/005_Over_ABN_AMRO/Algemene_voorwaarden/Algemene_Voorwaarden_ABN_AMRO_Bank_NV.pdf
If you read "15. Risicoverdeling" you'll see the client is liable for unauthorised NFC transactions if they bank had no reason to doubt the transaction.
So it's nice that your friend says banks won't hold you liable but the banks themselves think very different about this in their legal documents.
Until the text your friend at the Betaalvereniging quoted becomes a part of these legal documents I doubt any customer of a bank can put trust on this. Anybody can register a website and say that banks will really not do anything they say they can in their legal documents but that doesn't make it true.
