  • How does auto save work with direct debits?

Does anyone know how auto save works with direct debits? Are these also counted as a payment?

If so, what happens if I get a direct debit of 10,33 and my montly limit is also et at 10,33. Would the direct debit fail because 11,00 is over the montly limit?

I had a recurring payment, which hits the false account (because of missing Mastercard routing), so I did a request to another Account, which triggered the auto save feature. So I would guess direct debits behave like requests?

@SimonM#41349 Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but as I read your post you are saying that you got a direct debit on account X and then you manually requested money from account Y (to account X). I would assume that any request/payment would trigger the auto save so that a manual reuest/payment did that would seem logical. But did the direct debit itself got rounded up?

@JeroenE#41355 I did a request from one of my accounts to another, and as accepted, the autosave was triggered, as you can see:

@SimonM#41361 Right, I see. But a request is not the same as a direct debit. A direct debit can automatically be accepted below a monthly limit, and requests can't as far as I know.

You're right, direct debits and requests are not the same, it was just a guess

@SimonM#41349 So I would guess direct debits behave like requests?

and maybe I'm totally wrong ;)

              Hey guys! πŸ‘‹

Let me clear this up a bit.

Auto Save will happen whenever a Direct Debit is accepted, whether manually or automatically. That's because it's a payment, and we Auto Save on every payment you do. πŸ‘Œ

The Automatic Accept limit on your direct debit won't stop Auto Save. Because Auto Save is just moving your own money around, it isn't part of this limit. πŸ‘

About the request to yourself Auto Saving, that's actually not intended. Auto Save should happen on every payment you make to someone else, but not when you're just moving money around.

Thanks for pointing it out, we'll jump on that and fix it :) πŸ›

Let me know if you have any other questions about Auto Save 🌈

                @Tom#41398 Oh, I found a bug. #Sorry πŸ›  Thanks for clarification πŸ™Œ

@Tom#41398 Hi will there be a future update to include or exclude accounts from the auto save feature (e.g. Exclude joint accounts from autosave)?

@Robert-Lime-Zebra#41610 I was about to ask the same question since that just happened. I like the autosave future but would rather have the option to choose which account I want to use the future for

Auto saves does not work on joint accounts anyway does it? It does not even work with standard conected accounts as it appears to me.

My wife and I have a non joint connected account for groceries. She made a payment today but the auto save feature did not work. So it’s excluded?

I would love to be able to activate the auto save for connected accounts as well cause I feel like I am missing out on a lot of savings since my wife does most of our groceries shoppings.

@Lexa-kom-Trikru#41632 I just noticed this as well and am in the exact same situation. I would love for Auto Save to work on joint accounts as well, or at least have the option for it.

@Lexa-kom-Trikru#41632 As far as I know Auto Save works on connected accounts, but only for the person who owns the accoutn and not for all the people connected to it.
