Bunq is an official bank, and is legally required to make sure that it's customers are allowed to open an account. During signing up for bunq, you needed to provide a picture of an identity card, record a video, and maybe provide more information (depending on where you live).

Now bunq has to verify all your information. How long this takes, depends on the readability of your picture, the quality of your video, and how busy bunq support is at the moment. This can take anywhere between 5 minutes and ±2 weeks.
