Stefania Yanel All the information is indeed included in the IBAN so normally no other information is needed. But maybe you're working with an older system so here is a breakdown of how ES IBANs are structured (this works similarly for all Spanish banks with ES IBANs).
Example IBAN: ES2715761212139000000621
As you can see, the ES IBANs always have 24 digits in total, which are comprised of:
- First 4 digits: country code and checksum (
ES27
). You can ignore this.
- 5th to 8th digit: bank code (
1576
).
- 9th to 12th digit: branch code (
1212
).
- 13th and 14th digits: national checksum (
13
). You can ignore this.
- 15th to 24th digit: account number (
9000000621
).
Now you can look up your own account's IBAN and then you can extract bank code, branch code and account number if you want. But be very careful to not miscount ;) The great thing about having one IBAN with all information and additional checksums is that even if you make a mistake, the automatic system will likely catch it. But if you don't use IBAN and just communicate bank/branch code and account number manually, even a slight mistake will lead to failed payments.
As for the address, you can find the address of bunq's Spanish branch on the website of the Spanish Central Bank. The information there I can find currently:
