  • 🇳🇱 Price for business account is high and still charges for extra services

BUNQ Bank of the Free / Do Something !!

Ik zie het probleem niet. bunq hanteert de zelfde prijzen als andere banken.

      @Jeroen-Violet-Kiwi#41820 Hi 👋🏼 Jeroen,

Thank for sharing your thoughts. I get your point but like @joeri#41822 mentioned bunqs Business prise tag isn't that strange and perfectly in line with what is charged in this industry.

bunq isn't about being the cheapest, bunq is about bringing you real added value. So, in that regard I think the prise shouldn't be lowered.

      Have a great day 👌

@Jeroen-Violet-Kiwi#41820 bunq doesn't invest your money, Knab (Aegon) does invest your money. They compensate the lower prices by investing your money and keeping the bigger part of the profit. 😁

Sander changed the title to 🇳🇱 Price for business account is high and still charges for extra services.

@Jeroen-Violet-Kiwi#41820 Actually the costs can be reduced to 5 euro when the business account is part of a pack

Do I understand it correctly that for every pin transaction I have to pay an additional fee of 0.10€? On top of the monthly 10€ fee?

I am new to bunq and I like the geeky disruptive character of the product. Today I have most business running via ABNA, and yes... they are cheaper for the full package. I find that strange, as they are a traditional bank with high overhead cost.

From bunq I expect not only innovating features, but also disruptive pricing. That would really help me decide on a switch. Let's be honest, bunq is self-service online only concept

@Now-Next-Chris#44207 bunq doesn't invest your money and hence makes no profit on that. The only income is the fee. Traditional banks make a lot of money by investing your money. This is why it seems that the other banks are cheaper, but in reality this is made up for by the return they get on their investments. 😉

Aha, I see... To me that sounds a bit like a broken business model that needs fixing. A new customer would expect lower cost for an online only product - and it is all about customer expectations and experience.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to move away from legacy banks and go for a disruptive alternative.

@Now-Next-Chris#44209 Broken, or different? 😉 bunq mentions this everywhere and they do not aim to be the cheapest. Instead they try to be the best. Whether it's worth it for you is your own decision of course. You can also opt for a bunq Pack, you buy four subscriptions (of which one can be a company) for 19,99/mo. When you split this with friends/strangers you can get your costs as low as 5/mo. 😉

                            Sure, understood.

It is difficult to convince people to make the switch, because they will get less and pay more.

Just a simple case: A family of 4 all have 2 accounts with cards and online banking. They pay 2.30 EUR per month for the whole package. What would you sales pitch be in such a case?

Anyway, it all depends on who you target customer is. 🤟😉

@Now-Next-Chris#44228 What would you sales pitch be in such a case?

No investments that I do not agree with, total control over my direct debits (and no unnecessarily bouncing debits because of accidentally low funds), NFC Payments, debit mastercard, budgeting (multiple, disposable, IBANs) no more need for things link an e.dentifier (#ABNAMRO), superfast support (you rock guys 🤘), no bonus culture that I as a customer partially pay for, API, and so on. There's enough to make a nice pitch. 5e/mo ain't that much. Honestly, at ABN, for two accounts I paid around 3/4 euro's already. For additional services every time they would slightly increase the fee. 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, there are enough pro's, definitely some cons, but indeed, everyone can make up their mind on that.

Unless something interesting pops up again I will hide in this discussion to avoid getting another yes-no ("wellus/nietus") discussion on bunq's price. 🙂🙈

@Now-Next-Chris#44228 It also depends on your previous bank, I guess. In the past we had 2 joint Girorekeningen which was actually without a fee. Then it became ING and we had to pay. When the first big bonus scandal broke we switched to Triodos. We still had two joint accounts and that was 2,50 per person per account. So that was 10 euro in total. I know that was not the cheapest option, by far.

Now we are both in a bunq pack, shared with two others. So we still pay 10 euro combined, but we have more than 2 accounts, a better app, pay with our Android phone. don't need to drag around a separate identifier box to make payments and so on.

So for us it was a big improvement...
