  • iOS 16 - looks like widgets are not working

Hi 👋,
Yesterday Apple released iOS 16. I installed it and bunq App works fine.

I just can not get the widgets working. They keep reporting that I need to log into the bunq App first.

I did that but sill keep getting the message to first log into the App.

I re installed the widgets but no luck.

Anyone having the same? Found any fix? I have not re installed the bunq App yet.

    @Gianguig#265764 Strange. I have a widget and it works flawless under iOS 16.

      I have the same issue, logging out and logging back into the app also did not fix it.

        None of the widget are working.
        both the ones on the Home Screen and the ones on the widget view.
        I tried to uninstall the bunq App and re installed and now I am locked out.
        I had to re submit my ID documents…. That is a first. Never happened to have to re validate my identity for a simple App re install … on the same device.
        Let’s see how long it will take to re enable my access. The few minutes message I get in the App passed already since more than an hour.

          Very weird that from other devices the App is not locked.. only from the iPhone.
          And still not unlocked.

            My widgets are still working fine on iOS 16.

            @Gianguig#265791 Makes sense, though. Why would your other devices get locked? You deleted the app completely from your iPhone and then installed it again, therefore your iPhone is now a new device. The new device might be from an attacker that just phished you for your banking credentials, so therefore additional verification is needed there. Your other devices are not new, they are safe to assume to be yours, therefore they should not lose any access rights to your account.

            As for the speed of verification, well...

                Maybe it is a language feature or some other set up which affect widgets. I am not the only one so far reporting the problem ... let's see when I manage to re gain access with my iPhone if re install worked or not.
                I understand the security... but that has changed lately. I re installed the App many times and never had to re submit the ID credentials for verification. Re install the App never even triggered the 24 hours cool down.... well.. got to test the waiting time now for the re activation 😀

                  The waiting time of few minutes was a bit more than an hour.. not too bad after all.. the account was still active.
                  Now all the widgets are working fine... so re install helps.. but might trigger a re verification 👍
