Can I use the bunq Mastercard for payments/rides instead of the Oyster card? London Transport does support contactles & Apple Pay.

@Tymen-Navy-Badger#42409 Yes you can :) and thanks to ZeroFX you can do this without any fees!
You can even use your bunq Maestro card, but for inquires you need you card number (non ApplePay enabled cards don’t have them in app).
I was in London a couple of weeks ago and I had to buy an oyster card, because my maestro wasn’t working.
@Mat64#42496 I know my maestro’s card number but I can’t add them on the TFL site
@Zikun-Grey-Akita#44341 Are you actually using your Maestro Card or your MasterCard? As far as I do know, tfl only accepts MasterCard, but not Maestro.
@dwaldmannDE#44360 It’s maestro for sure. I can use it to check in metro and bus but can’t add it online

bunq doesn't support online payments with Maestro using the card number, you can use bunq's Mastercard for online payments though.
@Tim#44362 well, they do now because of Apple Pay, which means they should now work through the 'Oyster and contactless' system from TfL.
Anyway, I'll be in London next week and will test it out. if it works with Maestro I will update this message.
Update 4/12: Yes. Maestro work on the Oyster and Contactless system, see below for details
Somewhere on the site of TfL they address the issue of some Dutch Meastro bank cards not working. Other posts on the internet mention difference in acceptance between cards of the same Dutch bank.
It is a technical issue, which has too little impact to have a high priority.
As we are bunq (resistance is futile), we can choose whatever card we want and can choose for either Mastercard or ApplePay. Be sure to bring at least a Mastercard to London as well, just to be sure.
Oh, and please remember that you have to tag on and off with the same card or device... that way the Oyster system will know it’s you.

Yes, to answer your question, this can be with varying cards from e.g. ABN, ING, Rabo or SNS. Depending on the chiptype and version of EMV specification used on those cards. Newer cards, issued by these banks in the last 2-3 years should work, but aren't guaranteed.
bunq of course uses a relatively new chip type and method of encoding information on the chip and all bunq cards should work regardless of year of issue.
UPDATE OF THE ABOVE POST: Maestro works on the TfL system on it's own or through a digital wallet like Apple Pay, but please be aware that when using a Maestro card, £20,- is deducted from the account on first travel as a reservation, this transaction will be updated with the actual amount of that days travel sometime at night or early next morning.
I've tested this last week when I was on holiday in London.
For an AMEX, Visa or Mastercard a £1,- pre authorization charge is deducted on the card/account on first travel, and of course, this also gets updated with the actual amount traveled at the and of the day.
@DaveFlash#137315 Did you register an Oyster account to see your travel history? And did you use the physical cards or Apple Pay or both?
If you did use AP, did you use your Travel Card?
@DaveFlash#137315 did they send you the remaining of the 20 back?
