you should provide your Swift/Bic code together with your IBAN.
Make sure the sender sends the swift transfer in Euro.
You can also open a Sub Account in USD and then provide the information you get from the account created. In this case the transfer can be done in USD.
Also, and probably it is the cheapest way for transfer from the US, you can use Wise.
I am not sure which countries you can not receive money from, but I guess all the embargoed ones like Russia, Bielorussia, Sudan… and so on.
