• Direct debit payment automatically set to “recurring”

Hi all 🙋‍♂️ I purchased an ebook the other day via PayPal, which is linked to my bunq checking account. Just now I got the direct debit popup from my bunq app. I noticed that the “transaction type” has automatically been set to “recurring”. What consequences does this have and, more importantly, how can I correct it — as this is clearly a one-time payment? 😊 Thank you so much, Lucas

@lkbaerenfaenger#270521 Hi! I think it's best to contact PayPal or the store where you bought the book, since they've set up the recurring direct debit.

This is not really something relevant to you as a customer. Different merchants will bill you in different ways, for PayPal it probably makes the most sense to use a recurring direct debit. It does not mean that your payment is actually recurring.
