Hi 🖐there,
I started using the Budget Auto Sorting feature released Tuesday. It is fantastic ... but... I noticed today that some transactions are not getting sorted properly despite being classified correctly (eg: Groceries), they get paid but are not visible from the view of the sub account where they are supposed to end up and get paid from.. actually not visible in any sub account.
Only way to view the transaction is in the Total Balance view.
Also... the transaction which disappear did not calculate any Auto Save.
I placed two transactions with the same vendor... at 5 minutes one form the other.. using the same card. Only one is visible... the second disappeared.
I open a bug with bunq support but I wanted to check if anyone has the same issue.
Regards
GG

GG changed the title to [BUG] Budget Auto Sorting - Anyone having issues?.

Mmm... I think I know what happened.
My sub account for Groceries was low on balance... and then the transaction got paid from the "back up" sub account I assigned to the card... very weird... the primary sub account the card is pointing to has sufficient balance.. but not the Budget Auto sorting one.. so it went to the card back up sub account.
Hopefully this can be explained and clarified in the FAQs for this feature.
      Cheers

This is happening to me, I make card payments that get categorised correctly, there's enough money in the account, but it won't go out of the correct sub-account. I'm thinking maybe this only works for in-store purchases and not card purchases made online.

            Hi 👋,
that is not what happened to me. Category was correct but I found out that the amount charged was not available in the respective sub account so the charge ended up in the card back up sub account.
So if the charge ended up in the wrong account despite being correctly identified from the system I would open a support request with bunq.
In my case all worked fine, just did not know about the back up account kicking in.

It should work for all kinds of card payments. If that's not the case, feel free to report it.

@Jakob-Y#271006 I did report it just now, thanks!

                  hi 👋,
it just happened to me, with a Maestro charge. Auto Budgeting did jot work and sub account was ignored. Charge was correctly classified.
                  I open a support request.
                  cheers

                        Hi 👋
what happened lately is that I started getting notifications some of the budget categories are reaching the limits…. But those are categories for which I did not create a sub account, I had them set up in the previous App version.
In the new App surprisingly you can not even set up limits for categories you do not link a sub account.

Im the budget overview there are not even reported anymore the limits for each category.

Basically the whole Easy Budgeting feature is half baked mixed with features from previous version which are not accessible any more.

I open a bug for that also.

As it stands now I frankly can not use budgeting any more.

                              HI,
I have a bug open with bunq and they report that back up automatic account picking is not available any more... to pick the secondary account you need to use the secondary PIN.
I think it is a very bad decision to remove the automatic back up .... but looks like it had been done to accomplish the automatic back up picking when a sub account linked to Easy Budgeting is running out of funds.
Still have no words.. it is very bad decision. Also.. looks like it is impossible to understand ... when you set the primary account on the card to Auto Select for easy budgeting...which is going to be the default account the card is pointing to if there is no sub account set up for a specific category... mystery..... support has no clue.. they get back to Dev and then come back with the more obscure and non sense explanation.

The last answer is that the default account linked to the card is the one used when the card was ordered.. again non sense.. what is you delete that sub account.

Anyway... as I mentioned earlier.. Easy Budgeting half baked... getting a bit... really a tiny bit improved but far from being working fine.

Thank you for your post and your ticket to the support. I really think too it's a very bad decision. It should be possible to have first the easy budgeting option, and when you are running low on the account the possiblity to set an account as backup. This option shouldn't be bound on the second pin option, it should be normal feature.

I really like different sub-accounts, but what holds me backup using them in the proper manner, is the fear of running low on one, without a possibility of a backup although I have sufficient funds on another account.

Maybe bunq will fix it in the next update :)

                                  Hi 🖐,
                                  totally agree with your statements.
Removal of the automatic back up is not good.... no matter if you are using Easy Budgeting or not.. it was an easy to use feature ... simple... effective and very useful... maybe bunq comes back with a different option.

I managed now to get an explanation which is the "primary" sub account the system is using if you have no sub account assigned to a specific spending category.

The "default" or "primary" sub account the card will use, if you set Auto Select on the primary and you have a spending category which is not mapped to any sub account, is the "OLDEST CREATED SUB ACCOUNT".

Yes, you read right.. this is no where on any FAQ.. and hopefully they will update the help documents soon... the oldest created (and active) sub account becomes now the default one for any payment done with a card if there is no sub account assigned to the category.

Weird.. .but now that I know I can plan the set up and funds availability better.

Frankly.. I stopped using also Easy Budgeting .. waiting for an improved experience.
                                  Regards

Bunq bietet keinen Dispo.
