• actual bunqDesktop AppImage for linux

Hello, i have found the bunqDesktop for Linux, but its obsolete. it loads not the descriptions in the transactions. Exist perhaps an actual fork of that program?

No, bunqDesktop was a community project and has been discontinued by its developers. I'm not aware of any forks. The only official way to use bunq on the desktop is by using the online interface at https://web.bunq.com (or on macOS you can also run the iOS app natively).

It would be great if at some point a community member takes the time and effort to build a great desktop experience for bunq, but with the web interface getting more fully-featured with every update, it's hard to justify I guess. Would be interesting to hear what you think a desktop app could offer as surplus value in comparison :)

i have a bit experience in development, but I have no experience with banking apps. maybe I can assist a little with testing with my account, but probably a lot of the work needs to be done by someone else

and the advantage would be there would be a full desktop app for bunq :D

@New-Mango-Shrew-1483526623#271116 Personally I also see the appeal, but not sure that the average user would prefer a desktop app over just logging in on the web. Not having to install anything would probably be seen as a boon by many.

In case you‘re using macOS on any of your machines, the app MoneyMoney has a great bunq integration through the API. Can also automatically create and download monthly PDF statements. https://moneymoney-app.com/

Not really aware of any other consumer-grade software with similar functionality. Maybe GnuCash could be expanded to work with bunq instead of maintaining a completely custom piece of software.

Does the bunq accounts work in moneyplex?

For my another bank it exists a FinTS access but with custom photoTAN Authorization, and bunq provides only their own API with their own authorization?

@New-Mango-Shrew-1483526623#271638 bunq provides their own API. FinTS and the older HBCI were never popular outside of Germany, because they're German standards. The bunq API however is really great, I have written my own applications for it, it's very extensive and can be accessed through an API key, OAuth or with PSD2 certificate. So it's accessible for regular users and companies alike, and it works similar to other APIs from web applications.

is not OAuth read-only? and how works it with PSD2 certificate? best way is over API i think

                  @New-Mango-Shrew-1483526623#271649 is not OAuth read-only?

https://together.bunq.com/d/3016 Not completely read-only, but certain activities have to be approved by the user in their app to be carried out.

and how works it with PSD2 certificate?

Depends on what kind of certificate the company possesses. AISP will have mostly read-only access, PISP can create draft payments, CBPII can only check if there is enough money for something etc.

best way is over API i think

Regardless of the authentication method, in every case the same API is used. But yeah, the direct access via API key gives the most permissions, but therefore also carries the highest risks. It's certainly handy for fast prototyping when using the sandbox environment, but I wouldn't give out an API key of my actual bank account to... anyone really. Even for my own application, I don't trust myself enough and have therefore implemented the OAuth protocol.

But indeed with bunq you have the choice to even give out full unfettered access to your bank account. I don't know of any other bank where that is possible. FinTS is certainly nice, but not as easy to implement by yourself and less comprehensive.

how to authenticate over bunq API?

and can it be that there were errors a few days ago? I couldn't see any transfer details in the bunqDesktop app (although I was connected to the API key). now i can see all details

@New-Mango-Shrew-1483526623#271666 how to authenticate over bunq API?

Either with an API key or through OAuth. Or are you talking about something like iDIN?

Unlikely. The uptime of bunq was (and usually always is) nearly perfect: https://status.bunq.com Short outages happen, but have been quite rare in the last years. The bunqDesktop app however is completely unmaintained nowadays. If you're still using it, be aware that bugs might occur and won't get fixed.

Naja die bunqDesktop funktioniert aber immer noch
