• Bunq Metal card is splitting in half

I have a bunq Founder metal card, which cost 99 euros at the time to be able to plant trees. Bunq’s message at the time was “it will last much longer than a plastic card so it’s better for the environment!”. Now, two years on, the lamination is letting go and the card is literally splitting in two. I carry it in a card holder and rarely use it because I generally pay with Apple Pay. Replacing it will cost 129 euros…

At this rate my plastic card is holding up a lot better than the metal one…

Bunq can do better in my opinion. A free replacement at the least.

My Metal Card still looks like new 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hmm, my founders card still looks pretty good, just normal wear. In particular the adhesive is still fine. I wonder if the adhesive reacts differently depending on something like humidity.

My opinion is that bunq can do away with the plastic completely. I don't need contactless payment on my physical cards... not at a smartphone bank. It's really only needed for people that don't have a compatible phone imo.
