  • [Suggestion] Hide menu items / features (to denoise and tailor the UX)

Over the years, Bunq rapidly added features and is continuously exploring how it can be more than a traditional bank. This is the reason why I chose Bunq and joined this journey. However, compared to a couple of years ago, the interface became quite noisy in the sense that it's offering banking, community and environmental features all at once.

I would like to be able to denoise the user interface and tailor it to my needs. For example by being able to hide menu items and features.

Personally, that would mean hiding the 'Activities', 'Green' and 'Wheel of Fortune' features. I'll explain why:

  • Activities: this is great for managing group expenses. But this is something I do once per month, so no need for a dedicated tile.
  • Green: this is important, but I would rather set and forget (and always 'be green'). After setting my initial preferences, I almost never need to go back here. So again, no need for a dedicated tile.
  • Wheel of Fortune: simply not interested. I use Bunq for managing my personal and business expenses and don't want/need the gamification. So no need for a dedicated icon.

Fully agree: especially the Wheel of Fortune and Green features are just really annoying (activities can be disabled now I believe) and should be able to turn off or at least remove from main screen.

      Ich stimme dem auch zu.

Yes please. Remove Travel, Wheel of Fortune, Budgeting, Stocks, Trees. Please stay a no-nonsense banking app. This app was so much better before all the crap. Accounts, Savings, Cards, Payments.

Why are three of the 5 main navigation buttons absolutely useless to a normal usecase?

Oh, and remove Finn as well.

Wheel of Fortune kunnen uitzetten, dat zou ik heel prettig vinden.

Agree! Especially with the very prominent Stocks tab thatโ€™s now in the app.

Absolutely! Don't want to get rid of features? Simply allow us to hide them! This is one of the things that make me want to leave bunq - it's such a busy UI and so many mis-features! It should stay a banking up.

For me at least, a banking app should be:

                • a place where I can manage my account(s)
                • a place where I can manage my virtual and physical cards
                • a place where I can manage savings

Potentially it could be useful to also have the ability to:

                • buy and sell stocks and index funds
                • budget
                • create regular investments

I see very limited usefulness in a banking app that is also

                • a social network where people recommend places to spend one's money in
                • a database of travel destinations and the type of plug in each one
                • a gambling arena where you can win prizes
                • an environmental choices calculator where you can calculate your CO2 footprint and plant trees
                • a wallet for all my loyalty / membership cards

and I have absolutely no interest in an AI that is just wrong most of the time even when it understands the question, and I can give examples. It's just absolutely useless and you cannot trust its answers.
