It would be cool if I can change the name of the card in the Transaction from bunq Card to MasterCard or Maestro or Tap&Pay

Hi Matthias! The name shown in the card transaction is either:

1. The description you added when you ordered the card.

2. bunq Card if you did not enter a description.

You currently cannot change this in the app. I've changed your question into a wish so we can see if others would like this as well. If that's the case we will definitely check out the possibilities!

Hey, I didn't know this when I 'ordered' my cards, but now I can't change the name of my cards. Is it possible to get new cards free of charge? I thought it will cost me € 9,- for a replacement card :(

Lot While ordering a card, it is about a DESCRIPTION. I would never add a word which is already on the card, like Maestro.

I have two bunq cards too, and I cannot See any difference in the history. A user would not think that a description becomes the cards name in the app.

I didn’t know when ordering my cards the description would be shown in the event. Subsequently I left my card descriptions empty. Please add the ability to add a card name in the app!

I would love to see this as well. I’m using the description card name in a different way and bunq uses it as the same thing at some places in the app. E.g. when I pick a phone number / email address as the description, so people can contact me, it’s a pretty bad card name. 😊

Same here! We use multi cards for different employees. The name on the card itself is not important. But if we can change the name in the app, it becomes more clear who uses what card.

Small tip, I called my cards "Maestro" and "Mastercard", saves the day sometimes👌.

I can see why people would want this feature. But I see some complications from a user experience point of view.
bunq wants to keep the app as simple as possible and having the in-app name differ from the actual description on the card might lead to confusion.

W. Janson-Korhorn I agree but I wasn't even aware what the description is doing at all. Why should I call a mastercard mastercard in the description? It is already a mastercard and we should be able to distinguish those cards in the app views where we have to assign them or get information which card is assigned to which account.
Im fine if this is not possible in the app but then the support needs to be able to do this.

Cards without any description on the card (left empty when ordering) are called "bunq card" in the app though, perhaps at least in this case it could be allowed to enter a name at a later time.
