• ATM can not withdraw, limit?

I have set limit 2000 EUR, but can not withdraw, tried 1500 with no luck, tried 1000 no luck, tried 800 no luck, then stopped to avoid block of card. I have premium and I can not withdraw my money. Tried several ATMs. What is happening?

    @Wojciech-Aquamarine-Badger#43735 ATM withdrawels are limited to €500, although the ATM owner can even limit this further at their own discretion.

      It is very low. Bunq should not be adverised as bank then.

        @Wojciech-Aquamarine-Badger#44358 it's limited by the ATM owners, not by bunq

          @Wojciech-Aquamarine-Badger#44358

          In addition to the other comments withdrawals are limited to 500€ per card per day. If you have 2 or 3 bunq cards you can withdrawal 1000€ or 1500€ a day using multiple cards.

            @Wojciech-Aquamarine-Badger#44358 That's not quite fair. bunq is a modern bank... and cash is old skool ;)

              @Bastiaan#44367 No, I think it's limited by bunq* (unless they've changed it recently). I tried to withdraw 1000EUR on an ATM where I already successfully withdrawed 1000EUR with the n26 card: It did not work with the bunq card, but it is obviously not the ATM owner who restricted it.
              But here is the tip: You have three cards with premium subscription and you can withdraw 500 EUR with each of them: 1500EUR a day.

                ATM limits for non clients are capped at €500 a day. I think this is for all Dutch ATM's. Clients of the bank the ATM belongs to, have higher limits. E.g. with my ABN card I can withdraw up to a maximum of €10.000 a day (user setting). Only limit you encounter is a withdrawal limit per ABN ATM of €2.000. So you have to do it 5 times. Since bunq does not have ATM's it will be capped at 500. Wonder how this will work with the new cross bank ATM's (the yellow ones) they want to introduce next year.

                  @Gerben-Turquoise-Falcon#44374 I have heard that ATM limit for non clients too, but it applies to the Netherlands. I tested this in Germany with an Euronet ATM, where both cards bunq and N26 are non clients.

                    I am as well disappointed that I cannot withdraw more than 500 per card. I personally feel that the workarounds with other cards are practically useless.

                    I have tried to contact support about this. they wrote me this:

                    "First of all thank you for providing such a complete feedback!
                    i can understand that if you use bunq to withdraw money a lot that this will be a major drawback.
                    We have done this in order to prevent fraud and not prevent our users from accessing their own money!
                    I will definitely forward this to our product team to come up with a solution which can make everybody happy!"

                    This implies that the 500 limit is a choice made by bunq. I am not sure what kind of fraud they try to prevent though.
                    I would say if you as well feel that this could be improved, please join with your vote. Bunq is creative, I am sure they will find a solution if they will find this issue important.

                      @Pavel-Azure-Starfish#46163 Hi 👋🏼 Pavel, I think we have to see this from a more international perspective .. and if you look it that way you will see that other bank also limit ATM withdraws to €500 on average when abroad...

                      And also lets not forget that cash 💶 doesn't quite fits bunq 🌈 philosoph... so also for that reason I think bunq will not raise this limit or build new features surrounding cash.

                        Hi John,
                        I hope that everyone can look at the issue form any perspective they seem relevant. The limit issue is real for me. I hope that is ok with you.

                        I feel that the Dutch 500 euro limit on cash withdrawals could be better documented. I have personally not seen in anywhere. I personally was not ready to deal with the consequences and eventually had to contact support to find out what is actually going on. ... and yes, I am new to bunq.

                        Your feedback suggesting that my perspective is wrong + expressing your opinion that bunq is not going to do anything about this should help me how exactly???

                        I am sorry to say that your feedback only made me feel frustrated and I didn't like it at all.

                          @Pavel-Azure-Starfish#46186 Hey Pavel. Bunq is quite digitally oriented, so with a focus on mobile only use and digital payments over cash payments. Maybe we can help you find a way to work around your need to withdraw more than 500 euro's on one day. Because indeed as John said, because of the focus and ideals of bunq, it isn't likely that they are going to change this limit soon.

                          Do you care to share your use case to withdraw more than 500 euro's a day?

                            @Pavel-Azure-Starfish#46186 Hi 👋🏼 Pavel,
                            Sorry if I made you feel frustrated, absolutely not my intention. I nearly wanted to paint a realistic picture. If cash plays a big part in anyone's banking needs, then maybe bunq 🌈 isn't the best choice.

                            By the way, I do recognise your situation. From time to time I have cash money that I want to put on my bunq 🌈 account. I have to use workarounds to make that happen, but that's all in the game of choosing a digital minded bank.

                            I absolutely agree with you that bunq isn't very clear about the €500 limit. I couldn't find it in any of the legal documents. I think bunq should improve this.

                            Finally, if you have 3 cards 💳, you could withdraw €1.500 a day...

                              3 years later

                              @Pavel-Azure-Starfish#46186 I have 4 card I can't withdraw daily limit 500€ is only 250 I was able to withdraw so I have increased the daily limit withdrawal still I can only withdraw 250 daily why? Just from one card the rest card says I Exceeded the daily limit withdrawal

                                @New-Jade-Turtle-667735903#227917 The information in this thread is from 3 years ago. For current information on limits, take a look at https://together.bunq.com/d/6635. If your account was verified longer than 3 months ago, you should be able to withdraw 500 Euros in total every day.
