@thijsoost#276151 That's ... ungood š Now, I have to go into 20+ services and change the Credit Card info. Also, these DigiCards are only valid for a year or so (maybe 2?), so I think I have to do this more often than with physical cards.
@Magnificent-Peter#276153 The validity period is 3 years I think. But yeah, would be interesting to know if that is a Mastercard limitation or something bunq enforces. I have a ton of credit cards from different banks and they're always changing their numbers, but that doesn't have to mean anything.
@Magnificent-Peter#276153 I have the same problem, most of my digicards are expiring in 3/23. I have created dedicated cards for ordering food, mobility expenses, online orders, which are each registered with several services. So I have to register new cards to all of the services??
So I should better use plastic cards for this scenario in the future.

Huh? I just replaced a normal plastic Mastercard Debit from bunq a few weeks ago through the normal in-app flow and it got a new number. Do they not change their number for you?
@Jakob-Y#276216 Oh. Maybe I'm wrong, I thought, if I would renew a plastic card with the renew process, they would support the Automatic Billing Update - ABU (https://developer.mastercard.com/product/automatic-billing-updater-abu/)?
Maybe it was the case with the mastercard of my other bank and I mixed that up. Sorry.
@SimonM#276224 I honestly just aren't informed well on that topic, because I have only replaced a card at bunq myself a few times now. But is ABU only usable if the card number stays the same? I thought ABU means that the PSP would automatically get the new details for future card-not-present transcations, so in that case the number changing wouldn't be an issue. But maybe I have a misunderstanding here.
@SimonM#276224 Hey Simon, so I asked around a bit, and apparently this is the current status at bunq:
@Magnificent-Peter#276138 maybe that's also still interesting for you. Hopefully bunq will also implement a renewal process for DigiCards in the future, but currently it's not the case.
@Jakob-Y#276246 Hi Jakob, thanks for clearing this up. Then, plastic cards would be the better choice for long-time use cases.
@SimonM#276249 Ouch, thatās an unfortunate realisation.
Having to choose the plastic cards because the digital ones expire too soon.
If you have a subscription that charges every two years to get some discount then you get two transaction from this card before it silently expires. (If you do the 1card-1vendor approach.)
I noticed some vendors reaching out and warning me about an expiring card. Some did not. The bunq app did not notify me about expiring DigiCards. Frozen or not.
It did notify me about an expiring physical card in such a way I cannot dismiss it. āReplace Cardā. I have to replace the card or just let the notification stand. It will not go away.
It would better for all use cases to have some better card management.
It you authorise a direct debit with a vendor it is valid until revoked so in perpetuity.
Final thought: the 1 card 1 vendor approach can be for privacy reasons or safety reasons or practical reasons. The irony is that if card info leaks one this isolated card approach only one vendor/service needs a new card. If it was your main one, you had to replace it everywhere. With DigiCards at first glance it seems to protect you from that scenario, until they all expire quickly and we are in a different yet similar feeling boat.
I received an e-mail today that 1 or more digicards expire end of this month and that i can replace them at no costs
