Hey bunqers 🌈,
We always use the latest technology when adding new features and improvements to the bunq app. To continue giving you a banking experience that meets our standards for functionality and security, the bunq app will no longer be available on older Apple operating systems (iOS 14 and lower) starting March 13, 2025.
We recommend that your device is updated to iOS 15 or higher. You can check what iOS you’re on and, if needed, update your device following the steps below 📱
How do I update my device?
You can update your device in a few easy steps:
- Plug your device into a power outlet and make sure it’s connected to the internet with Wi-Fi.
- On your phone, go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update. (Here you can see what iOS your device is currently running on. If your device runs on iOS 15 or higher, you don’t have to do anything to continue using bunq without any hassle.)
- Tap on Install Now ✅
What if my device doesn’t support iOS 15 or higher?
Apple doesn’t support iOS 15 on all devices. If your device is of an older model, you may find that it doesn’t allow you to update to iOS 15. For clarity, below is a list of all Apple devices that support iOS 15:
- iPhone 6S
- iPhone 6S Plus
- iPhone SE (1st generation)
If you have an older device, we recommend getting a new one, as your current one won’t have the same safety and security features that newer devices do. However, rest assured you can always get a safe banking experience using bunq Web on any device 🔐
