• Do Transfers count as Withdrawals?

I have just opened my bunq account and am trying to figure out for what I can use savings accounts. It says only 2 withdrawals can be made per month from all savings accounts. Does only when I withdraw cash from an ATM count towards those 2 withdrawals or also other payments? Could I therefore create a sub-account for my fixed expenses (from which regular payments are transferred to other people/companies but no cash withdrawn) as savings account?
I don't want to try it out since those are important payments which have to be made, so I can't risk them not being able to be paid because I am using a savings account...

@Hasis#277560 "Withdrawal" means getting money off the account, so it includes all transfers/payments.

You're unable to withdraw cash from a savings account, because you can't connect a card to a savings account.

@Hasis#277560 Basically everything counts as withdrawal. While there is no limit on the amount of a single withdrawal, as you rightly said you only get max. two withdrawals per month. The savings accounts are not meant to be used for day-to-day expenses. Just use a regular sub-account for that, they do not have any limits in regards to how many payments you can make.

To get the most interest while still staying flexible, I would transfer just a single month worth of expenses to your payment account and leave the rest on the savings account. That way, in case of an emergency, you always still have at least one withdrawal left, that you could use to withdraw the rest of your savings account's balance if you really need it.

Alright, I will set it up as a normal bank account then. Thank you both for clarifying!

@Hasis#277567 beware you won’t receive any interest if you set it up as a normal current account
