I have seen a screenshot from a Czech bank that allows to block transactions when DCC was used. This would be a phenomenal feature for bunq, as it can save people lots of money, either at sketchy POS where the seller selects the DCC for me, or ATMs that have very confusing menus to trick you into using DCC
I found this quote: "Acquirers must correctly identify DCC transactions in clearing messages and populate the pre-conversion currency and amounts in Data Element (DE) 54 (Additional Amounts)." in https://www.mastercard.com/elearning/dcc/docs/DCC%20Guide%2020.02.17%20EN.pdf. However, they only have to identify this in 98% of the transactions, so instead of "On and Off", there might be an implementation with 3 states. Off / Normal / Strict.
Off: Allow all payments
Normal: Decline payments where DCC was announced properly
Strict: Don't allow any transaction where the currency doesn't match the country
Thank you for considering
