A joint account has multiple owners, so in a way, so do the payments from it. That makes it a bit strange that for the same payment different owners can see a different category.

I would think in most households jobs are divided and one person will do most of the finances. Setting categories (thus which account something will come out of) etc. would be part of that, but that's now not possible as it won't affect payments by the other owner.

It would be nice if categories could be aligned for these kinds of payments.
