  • RIB download unavailable

I am happy that people living in France can produce RIBs to ease the administrative processes now. However, there are some people in my situation that still need to deal with these entities, and thus need to produce RIB documents for the exact same reasons, without living in France nonetheless.

I understand that you want to tailor the experience to match people's situations, and not encumber the app with tons of options that are useless for them, but would it be possible to let everyone access the feature, maybe as an additional single submenu line like "download specific statements" (that, when touched, would show a list of all the special statements you provide) ?

That way, people living in France could still access directly to their RIB as a shortcut, but people abroad could too if they need to deal with french administration. This of course could be generalized for other special documents, not french documents only, and help everyone navigate their favorite administrative hell!

( I refer to this issue https://together.bunq.com/d/658-rib that cannot be replied to for some reason )

I believe it is accessible to all - just make sure your app's / phone's language is set to French.
I could download RIB when (and only if) I had my iPhone set to French, even though I'm not a resident of France.

Salut Laurent, thanks for reaching out to us!

We currently give the possibility to everyone using the app in French to download a RIB, no matter where they live:)
Just change the language of your phone to French, go to the account and you’ll be able to download the document.
      Hope this helps!

Let us know if you have any other comment! :)

Wow, you are both right! Thank you very much! I thought it was based on the address.

The use of the locale for filtering the accessible documents goes against discoverability in my opinion, because we cannot understand the reason why the menu button is not there.

And the detection of the language (french), as a proxy for the locale (France), is... just a bad antipattern.

But now there is a simple workaround indeed. I think this useful info should be added to https://together.bunq.com/d/5375-comment-exporter-un-rib-how-do-i-export-a-rib (a tutorial that have an english translation, but does not work when the phone is in english!)

          @Laurent-Lime-Akita#45722
I second that. Confusing that the tutorial includes English language but doesn‘t work on an „english-speaking“ phone.
I also find this somehat unexpected, as neither bunq‘s community here nor their customer support is otherwise segregated by language. bunq doesn‘t offer language-/region-specific service or specifically „tweaked“ products, pricing and conditions elsewhere - everything rather seems to be and work the same for all customers, regardless of country, residency or language, unlike, for instance N26. (The notable exception being, of course, Apple Pay, due to external factors we all know).

Thanks guys. We'll be working on ways to localise specific country-specific features in a better way! 😊

@NiB#45716 This worked for me but I find it very strange that with a French IBAN number this functionality is dependent on the language setting on your phone!!

@New-Crimson-Lamb-1302027023#298475 Probably because RIBs are only used in France
