• Please make Finn an optional feature

I know AI is all the rage for investors and stuff, but every single question I asked it so far was absolutely hilarious. Often in a bad way.

If any investors are reading this: your money is spent better somewhere else, as long as this piece of software is still integrated.

It was always:

  • No response at all due to timeouts.
  • The bot basically telling me to just check it myself in the app. Great job, bot.
  • A generic FAQ link I could have just looked up myself with a simple search. And pretty much always not related to what I actually asked.
  • It completely ignoring my question and answering something unrelated (example: I asked it how much I spent on XYZ electric scooters each month, and it replied that my spendings for groceries vary each month and lists me some random restaurant visits (which aren't even groceries).
  • It completely making up numbers (again, asked it for a list of scooter expenses, grouped by month. It listed months where I didn't even have an account yet. And the values were completely random.). My favorite. I love having a financial advisors who halicinates my bank statements.

I like the bot for the fun of it and comedic value, but it's actively harmful as an assistant, especially a financial one.
Some people might find it interesting, but for me it's just taking up space on my home screen. And the actual helpful data that was there was completely removed and replaced by a convoluted mess in another tab.

All on all, a very bad user experience.

@Kai-Grey-Leopard#289229 I agree I still don't see the utility beside it's totally bugged and uncoherent results it's way longer than do it yourself.

I don't know how it can give me 5 when the insight it give me says 3 october, 4 november, 7 december when i ask the income in 2023 4€ in 2024. If it's not able to do a basic addition.

I hope I am wrong but I don't see the utility beside excite investors.

      Hey there @Kai-Grey-Leopard#289229 👋

Thank you for voicing out your feedback, it is invaluable to us. Finn is currently in its Beta version, which means we're continually working on improving it every day based on your feedback 🚀

Finn is designed to provide insights on your spending, budgets, recommended places and much more. However, we understand that there might be some hiccups along the way, and we appreciate your patience and feedback as we work on these improvements 🙏

We encourage you to leave a thumbs up or thumbs down to each of Finn’s answers, and you can also add a note to give us your written feedback if you want to elaborate. This helps us understand where Finn needs to improve and how we can make it more useful for you 🏦

Regarding your concern about Finn taking up space on your home screen, we're always looking for ways to enhance the user experience and your feedback is invaluable in this regard. We'll definitely take your comments into consideration as we continue to develop and improve Finn.

@Olive-Gemsbok#289234 Usually, users opt-in to use a beta app/feature/etc. But with Finn, everyone is forced to use a beta feature, because the "old search" isn't available anymore. Besides, Finn is also already implemented in the Support Centre, even though it's far from working correctly.

Would've been better to delete the old search after Finn is out of beta, in my opinion.

@thijsoost#289235 Exactly I think lot of users don't understand why Bunq replaced an essential function by a beta unreliable function.

            yup.

I'm getting really tired of companies not taking "no" for an answer.

Let people opt-out of it if they don't want it. Or better: opt-in.
Don't be a creepy weirdo company by abusing the trust people have in a company (a bank, even).

It's totally fine to have cool new toys to give to people to test. But especially with something so broken and alpha (in the current state I refuse to call it beta), let people deactivate it and reclaim precious screen real estate and features they are actually using.

People all opt out of your feature? Well, maybe think about why they do that instead of blaming users that they just don't get it.

Take "no" for an answer (same with abusive "maybe later" prompts).

And I don't blame any support staff here. They can't do more than boring generic responses. I fully blame management here, who will never use their own apps if they can help it

I loved how the old search function just allowed me to type for a name and browse all IBANs. Now I have to check all my IBANs individually. The only time that Finn actually loaded it gave me wrong dates, that did not correspond to any transactions. The actual transactions were not found. I don’t need GenAI to fabricate fake transactions…

@Mattheus-Silver-Shark#297430 You can still do this by adding the "Total" widget to your Home page. If you open the widget, there's a good old search bar at the top, that searches all your sub-accounts!
