• Tap&Pay does not check if NFC is enabled on device

In my opinion this is a bug, but bunq Support advised me to post this issue on Together so people can give it a high five ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿป

If i (accidentally) disable NFC on my device and open bunq's Tap & Pay, then i don't receive any warning message about it ๐Ÿ˜•.
Now nothing happens when i tap my device against the payment terminal, so it would be nice if there is a warning when opening Tap&Pay. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Yes please! I've also had this issue before. After three stores where I couldn't pay with Tap & Pay I finally figured it out what the problem was ๐Ÿ˜…

@Mathijs#45830 heheh ๐Ÿ˜€ yeah, I had almost the same experience some days ago ๐Ÿคจ

+1. I had this issue yesterday

          19 days later

Today it happened again, I had accidentally disabled NFC on my phone but not received any warning on the tap&pay screen.

            a year later

I was about to report this, but apparently this was already posted a year ago. Just wanted to confirm that it's still an issue as of today.

Same here! When my battery is below 15%, my phone turns stuff like GPS and NFC off. A alert or direct popup to enable it would be nice!

So we are voting now, if we want bugs fixed?

@Dennis#138038 If something is a bug or expected behavior is often subjective. Tap & Pay not working when it should work would probably be a bug. But it not working when it should not work in the first place (because of disabled NFC) is not. And the mere non-existence of a special warning about that seems to me more like a missing feature, and not a misbehaving feature. I don't know a lot about the APIs on Android, but it seems like an easy and helpful thing to implement, so I don't see why it shouldn't be added. But I think that's what Support may have had in mind when Bastian spoke to them a year ago.
