Stripe Payments with bunq Mastercard

I'm trying to pay several services using stripe. However, if I pay with a bunq-Mastercard the payment always fails. Stripe returns the message:

We are unable to authenticate your payment method. Please choose a different payment method and try again.

I've nearly switched completely to bunq. This is the only reason for me keeping a different creditcard.

Anyone else encountering this issue? Is there a solution?

Arend Hi Arend! Are you trying to use a Mastercard credit or Mastercard debit?

Thijs A Mastercard creditcard.
I just found a solution. I had a VPN-tunnel opened. After closing that, the payment proceeded.

Thijs I have the same problem. I am trying to pay something via stripe while using the mastercard debit. I tried using VPN for US but I get the error message saying that the card is declined.
