• Prevent automatic creation of virtual cards

Hi, I have kind of a niche, but serious problem.

I often switch between Easy Bank and Easy Money to save money, but use the advanced features when I need to.

However, since the introduction of the ‘free credit card’ on the Easy Bank plan, every time I switch to the plan (which requires you to freeze all existing virtual cards) a new card is automatically created and when I switch back to Easy Money it turns into a virtual card.

Slowly but surely I’m coming closer to the 25 card limit and from my understanding reading other topics, there is no way to reduce the amount of cards you have as deleted cards still count towards the limit.

Is there any way to prevent these cards from being created except for not switching plans and always pay €9,99 a month for Easy Money? And, if I do breach the 25 card limit, is there any way to not have to pay €19,99 a month in eternity? Or is deleting your Bunq account the only option in that scenario?

Thanks for reaching out about this!

As you know, we offer four plans that come with varying features and are offered at varying costs so that each user can choose the right one to suit their needs. The plans aren't designed with the intention that users regularly switch between plans. Therefore, there's no way to circumvent the automatic creation of the new card when you switch to Easy Bank. The same applies to the 25 card limit - if you exceed 25 cards, you'll be charged the monthly fee of €19.99.

I hope this clarifies the situation! Please let me know if you have any additional questions 🌈
