• 8 days instead of 72 hours .... and yet not a concrete solution

As I haven't heard anything from side of the Bunq Support team since 11th March 2024 (!!) to answer my questions about a Bunq business account (see screenshot), I gave it a "blind try" to open the business account on 19th March, as my Dutch company is officially registered with KVK number plus BTW tax number since 07th March 2024, ready to go public.

The first promise to get a business account within 5 minutes was nothing but "hot air". I remember that I am already since long a customer with private bank account.

The 2nd promise to get the verification within 72 hours was also nothing but "hot air". Now we have 9 days gone, and still no single answer ???????

My application on 19th March was complete:

  • Tax informatino needed ... fulfilled
  • enter your business information ... fulfilled
  • company name ... director invite accepted
  • additional information ... provided
  • new terms & conditions ... done

I wanted complete it with the new www Domain, but the support ticket system is damaged.


From my perspective Bunq is "slowmo" like the "old economy" of the Pre-Internet era. We live in times of A.I. Nvidia just released a new super GPU with 1.8 TB/sec. The world is turning and not sleeping. Business plans can be written within hours, new companies can start quickly.

As a digital nomad, my new business is servicing as "Content creator" (digital design, text/blogging, audio/radio/listening on demand/podcasting) ... in other countries like HongKong (heavily blockchain driven), UAE (tax free more less), Latavia and Estonia (opening a business account within hours) ... people have high dynamics, while Netherlands is leaning back in its wealthyness (many studies and reports show, that more and more companies leave NL and the new government with its nationalistic politics is not at all expat friendly).

Bunq Team owes me an explaination. The delay is business damaging as I sell my digital services via Shopify 24h/7d . The website and new domain is up with around 240 products (= 2500 variants) at an asset value of arwound 170,000.00 EURO and a Bank business account is highly relevant.

Meanwhile I look for competitors in the market. The Nordic bank institute NARVI I was first time in contact 24 hours ago, gave me this afternoon after a quick communication via email the fully verification.

Tomorrow I have a video conference with the Dutch Accounting service Tellow B.V., which offers in collaboration with the world biggest bank group BNP Paribas a fully NL IBAN, SEPA and Bank cards. The Tellow account is cost free and can be opened in minutes.

Bunq has to switch into higher gear !!!

      Hello, Violet ! ... I got the email and read the info. But all the documents your team requires do not fit.

      I have registered a so called Sole Proprietorship Corporation, in other words, its a One-Man-Company. Neither I have share holders nor business partners or co-owners. In Dutch its called an "eenmanszaak".

      I already had upladed the extract from the KVK database (Dutch chamber of Commerce) which clearly indicates this status. - Therefor there is no requirement of a director declaration, as such position does not exist.

        P.S.: All other questions have been answered in detail, from website address to estimated sales revenues/number of payments, international business partners and internatoinal payments etc. ....

        I hope Bunq can make the decision BEFORE Easter (as I lost already lots of days since the business registration on 7th March). Tks so far giving attention to.
