Of course, bunq does everything in its power to detect, prevent and mitigate fraud by leveraging the latest technologies, such as machine learning, to continuously monitor account activity and respond promptly to any reports of misuse.
Upon receiving a report of a fraud attempt, we'll promptly initiate an investigation and keep affected users informed of that investigation's progress. Additionally, we liaise with beneficiary banks through interbank communications to explore avenues for securing funds, either partially or in full.
To ensure complete safety and limit the chances of fraudsters impersonating a bunq employee, we also use a secure in-app chat for all communication. Although we do not have a live-chat call number for fraud cases, our users can call our SOS support line to get urgent help.
Phishing scams represent a commonly reported type of fraud within the industry, and we are committed to educating and informing our users to mitigate such risks as much as possible. If you have any suggestions as to how we can better inform our users of these risks, we'd be grateful to hear them 🙏
