• Confused about Easy Card

I currently have East Bank (personal + 1 joint account) with my husband and we wish to downgrade to Easy Card only. I found another post here, where someone asked the same but was told that Easy Card is not a subscription plan.

So why is it listed in the PLANS page? That is SO confusing! Then on the Easy Card page, or the FAQ it still does not make it clear.

I appreciate if someone could just answer if it's possible to have a card for daily expenses to be used with Apple Pay without a Bunq subscription? Sadly husband and I have moved to another bank since we could have a joint account for a fraction of what we were paying here... but would like to keep a virtual card for our daily shopping.

I've been looking for this info for days... the website and Together is an overload of info and very confusing. Or I'm just old... or both!

    @One-Pink-Tulip#293628 I found:

"You can downgrade to the Easy Card plan from the Easy Savings one. To do so, you should close your Savings Accounts by following these steps:

    Go to 🏠 Home
    Tap on your Savings Account
    Tap on Settings ⚙️
    Tap on Close Bank Account"

So in order to switch to the Easy Card plan, you first have to close all your sub-accounts. Only then you can switch.

Keep in mind the Easy Card plan is just a credit card you have to top up every time. If you use it for daily expenses, you'll have to add money every time you want to make a payment.

@thijsoost#293630 Thank you so much!! I got it now!! It didn't show as an option to downgrade because I still have a sub-account joint with my husband.

Yes I understand I have to top-up... as we also had a sub-account (when we had Easy Pro) only for shopping, that we had to keep adding money.

PS: I don't even have an Easy Savings.. only Easy Bank at the moment. So I guess I need to downgrade to Easy Savings first?

@One-Pink-Tulip#293673 Yes! Once you're on Easy Savings, you can downgrade to Easy Card using the steps in my earlier comment.

Hello again Thijs... Can you confirm that Easy Card cannot be Joint with someone? The sub-account mentioned above is joint with my husband because we use it for shopping. We don't want to have 2 separate shopping accounts that we'll have to keep topping up.

N26 offers a Joint Standard account Free (no monthly fees) - does not have a physical card which we don't need anyway. As long as there's Apple Pay and we both use the same account, it's all we need. We haven't opened anything there yet.. Just checking before we completely leave Bunq.. (as mentioned above, we already moved to another bank for paying bills.. but want to keep a shopping acct separate)

@One-Pink-Tulip#294417 Indeed I think there are no joint options available on the Easy Card plan.

The Easy Savings plan has 1 joint savings account included. If you want a normal joint sub-account, you'll need the Easy Bank subscription.

@One-Pink-Tulip#294426 Unfortunately, banks cannot offer all features for free! Especially bunq, since they don't invest with your money if you don't want to (like other banks).

Hey Thijs.. me again... same topic. If Easy Savings only allows to withdraw 2x per month, how is it possible to have an Easy Card attached to it and be making every day purchases/shopping?? Doesn't that make the Easy Savings work just like a regular checking account? Don't those transactions count?

                  One more question:

"The Easy Savings plan has 1 joint savings account included. If you want a normal joint sub-account, you'll need the Easy Bank subscription."

What is the difference between these 2 types of Joint accounts? What does one do that the other one doesn't?

Trying to figure out if this will work for our (husband and I) daily shopping expenses (groceries, gas, etc..)

@One-Pink-Tulip#294523 I'm not entirely sure about the differences between Easy Card and Easy Savings, unfortunately!

Usually, you cannot connect a card to a savings account. But I believe that might have changed since the free Digicard was introduced.

On the Easy Bank plans, the difference is:

                    • Savings account / joint savings account: can only be used for savings. You can withdraw twice a month and cannot connect a card
                    • Regular sub-account / joint account: can be used for day to day payments, you can connect a card to it
