I just wanted to order a Metal Card for 99€, and then contacted support first because I wanted to know what happens when the card expires after the 4 years.
The support replied that I would have to pay the €99 every 4 years, which doesn't really make sense to me as the €99 is already too high in my opinion, you only get the benefit of having 22 grams of stainless steel as card material for the money, everything else is paid for, as in my case by the Easy Bank Pro XL ABO, i.e. the included features.
Other banks or providers such as Revolut only charge €13.99 a month for a Metal Card subscription, where the card is included without any one-off costs for the card.
Revolut has fewer features and I am almost always enthusiastic about BUNQ because of the features like local IBANS and yes the costs are high at 18.99 for Easy Bank Pro XL, but with production costs and shipping of max. 20€ for a Metal Card, which the support has publicly admitted in a together BUNQ post, I find 99€ too expensive and if then not even the card is exchanged for less money at expiration, as in the past, then that's just cheeky.
Especially when other providers offer the cards for less monthly fees, free of charge in the tariff and also exchange them free of charge on expiry and BUNQ then writes the features that do not exist except 22 G stainless steel.
I don't understand BUNQ at all. BUNQ should actually be called the Bank of the I don't understand BUNQ at all. As the Bank of the Three, BUNQ should actually support the purchase of Metal Cards and offer them more cheaply and exchange them free of charge, as well as offering at least 6-8 years of validity so that they are environmentally friendly, as plastic cards only generate plastic waste.
