  • ATM does not allow withdrawal

Good evening everyone, I received my bunq card before yesterday and I activated it. I tried to make a withdrawal yesterday at the vending machine but she refused. it is written that the amount requested exceeds the limit of the card while the daily limit of the card is 5000 €. I'm trying to try a withdrawal of 800 €. Help me please ? I live in France !

          Your limit of 5000€ is for all transactions with your card except for withdrawals. This is always limited to 500€ per card per day, so if you have 2 bunq cards 1000€ (2 x 500€ per card).

            @Tim#47177 Can't you temporary uplift the limit to 10K EUR like ING and ABN allow at their own ATM?

              Bunq has no 'own' ATM's and has to rely on the service of other distributers. I've read not very long ago they might revise the amount, or at least might take a look at it.

                @Tim#47177 Maybe the low daily ATM withdraw limit is part of a conservative Anti Money Laundering Strategy of bunq.... especially if we look on the super easy onboarding process for a bunq account

                  @Gunnar#47219 All Dutch banks do this. Usually you can withdrawal something like 1k at the banks own ATM's. But if you use ATM's of other banks you can only withdrawal 500 or 250 euro. It depends on the bank you use.

                  Bunq doesn't have their own ATM's and you can only withdrawal 500 euro at any ATM.

                  Note that if you withdrawal more than 10 times in a month with your bunq card you have to pay bunq for each subsequent withdrawal!

                      @New-Golden-Quokka-1722256805#265830 Do you see any event in the bunq app? If you're hitting a limit, you will always get a failed payment event in your bunq app that has more information about why the payment was rejected. If you do not see any event, then chances are the withdrawal is failing because of something unrelated to bunq. For example, many ATMs do not allow to withdraw more than 200-300 Euro per day. In that case, there's nothing bunq can do about that.
