Hi,
Support asked me to open a topic here, so here goes:
We are limited to 2 withdrawals from Savings accounts per month. Now the problem is: when you have a Joint Savings Account (Compte Joint) and you transfer balance from account A to account B: this can be counted as a withdrawal. So let's say you want to withdraw €500 from account A, €250 from account B and €300 from account C. You transfer the funds from A and B to account C: then you're out of withdrawals and can't actually withdraw it to your monetary account.
Transfers between your savings account do not count towards the limit. But there's an exception which causes the above issue: if joint account A and B are "owned" by your partner and account C is "owned" by yourself: every transaction between A and B, A and C or B and C are always counted as a withdrawal. I consider this a bug and unexpected behaviour, depending on the circumstances.
I therefore propose the following solution:
If a Joint Savings Account is owned by the exact same people*, do not count it as a withdrawal; irrespective of who created the account.
I believe this would be fair. Its the same owners with an equal share in the money on the account, it shouldn't matter who initiates the transaction. Who sent the invitation to the partner ought to be irrelevant.
* = and I do mean exactly the same people. So if you have one Joint Savings account with 3 people and one with 2 or 4 people having access: they're not exactly the same, so it counts as a withdrawal. But if you have 6 Joint Savings Accounts and all 6 of them are owned by "Pietje" and "Puk": then whether Pietje or Puk sent the invite should not matter, it should always be seen as a transaction between your own accounts; in the same way as personal savings account transactions.
Thank you for your consideration.
