Hello all,
I'm an Excel nut and keep track of everything in Excel and I noticed the interest calculated by bunq is lower than what is to be expected. To give an example, for one of my accounts, I have a base rate of 2,01% over the first € 21.436,50. Since it's not a leap year, the weekly interest should amount to (2,01%/365)*7= 0,000385479. Over the amount of money, that would add up to € 8,26 per week.
Over the next € 35.3466,86 on that account, I would get a yearly interest of 2,67%. Weekly this should be (2,67/365)*7=0,000512055. This should add up to a weekly interest of € 18,16.
The total amount of interest should be € 8,26 + € 18,16 = € 26,42 last week. The interest received was € 24,50. That's a small but noticable discrepancy of €1,92, that would add up to about just over € 100 per year in interest missed (not taken into account the interest over interest collected).
I think I took everything into account here. Don't know if this is the correct place to post this discussion either.
Kind regards,
Marc
