  • In-app form for missing company icons

IN THE HYPOTHETICAL that this would be possible, what sort of identifiers or proofs would be necessary to supply to bunq employees to check this? If the process were to be laid off of the shoulders of some employees, how could this be automated or outsourced? Why not outsource the approvals to users who have community mod status for example?

@JonasV#78169 the problem is currently not necessarily the verification of icons, but the actual implementation. One needs access to the backend source code to implement the icons. 🙂

@Polderdijk#78242 I would love this and it would trigger me to create icons for all shops I’ve been.
Please bunq implement something like this.

Would really like to see this feature as a lot of icons missing here in Ireland

Wasn’t in update #11, so let’s push it again, maybe we can expect the unexpected with update #12 😉

400 submissions, even though they stopped adding any new logos! I‘m pretty sure if there‘d an effective way to add logos, there‘ll be a ton more submissions and we get a beautiful event list 😃

I stopped adding to the community list, as at the moment it is just pointless. If there would be a way to add company logos I would ensure that all events in my list would have one ...

The best format for logos and icons would be SVG (or vector graphics in general). However, this in turn is not supported at all or only to a limited extent by mobile devices, which speaks against a direct upload suggestion function.

I see two alternatives: using a form on a website to offer the possibility to upload new icons in a structured way, or that each user can only upload images for himself.

In all cases, however, it would be a huge step forward in terms of appearance for the app if the logos of the respective companies were displayed instead of grey standard icons.

I also have no idea why it's taking so long before bunq does something about this. These company icons is what bunq makes bunq. Would be less attractive when everything was grey. The think I dislike more is that months ago I delivered them all information to support and was said to me that the have forwarded the request, but untill today nothing has happened. 1 of them was just a mapping, because they already had the GB one... Such a shame 😞

@VanDaGrant#112571 PNG or JPG would also be totally fine I think. The Icons aren’t shown that large, and some Logos are pretty difficult to get as SVG.

If they would just allow users to upload their own would be a good start. Maybe also show the uploaded icons optionally to others who paid at the same shop at let them vote on them. If enough positive votes are in, the icon could be displayed for all users. Something like the google captchas that ask you to select all images with cars.
Then adding images would be done by the community but still has a form of verification.

It seems there is some sort of automatic system in place now! I see updated icons and also for companies I never created icons for 😁 (some are broken though: see https://together.bunq.com/d/18962-interpreting-merchant-names). But great to see some changes here! (too bad some icons didn't get better, I like the previous "Apple" icon better for instance, but can't have it all). 😁
