  • Numberpad when entering IBAN

@wvrsm#52872 Well then it’s totally fine. 😋 We don’t need to agree I’m just trying to make my point and I am pleased to see what other people think about this topic. 😅 The more i think about it i guess it really could be a nice addition if bunq manages to do it right. 😋

    @wvrsm#52760 Hi 👋🏼 Wouter,

    Well, I see your point. Although I hardly ever type an Iban, from a designers standpoint I would add this feature. I think that these small details spice up any app. 👌

      @Lexa-kom-Trikru#52861 To be fair, the Dutch IBAN number does have a fixed format. So as a developer I would change the behaviour based on the country code (the first two letters) and then use the Dutch IBAN mask and for all other countries the international one. It's the little things that bring joy.

        @Edwin-Olive-Jaguar#52893 Sure if bunq can figure out a way to implement this id be fine with this. My concern was just about the whole situation with different countries/IBANs but as i understand now this doesn’t seem to be a problem if other banks can do it surely bunq can do it too. 👍

          Agree with the above. If they can program it right it might be convenient, otherwise it’s a no-no as default. Moreover, some countries have letters in the last section that only contains numbers here; that would also be a problem if you get a numpad only hehe.

          So unless they make it respond to specific countries: I’d rather not see them tinker with this.

            @Lexa-kom-Trikru#52895 Don't know if their developers can :-) But they seem like clever folk.

              This is absolutely not okay. Also happens on Android.
              On my blackberry phone, I need to press the alt key on my physical keyboard to activate the number keyboard. Please fix it.

                Maybe I’m missing something, but this already works kinda.. I mean, when I need to enter the numbers my keyboard automatically switches to the numerical / symbol part (default iOS keyboard). When I need to enter characters (e.g. “ABNA”) it switches to those. Then afterwards it switches again to the numerical part.. I know it’s no numpad, but what’s the added benefit? I really don’t see any added benefit for siwtching to numpad instead of the numerical layout of my keyboard. 🤷‍♂️

                  @Sander#52917 Funny that no one mentioned that so far. 😂 As it turns out it really works that way when using NL IBANs. When entering a German IBAN the keyboard switches after DE 00 to the alphabetical keyboard instead of the numbered keyboard. But well the numbers are just one click away so it works for me. 😅🙈

                    By no means I’m saying something does not work. I’m just suggesting it could be more convenient in my opinion. As John Do said details like these can spice up an already good app.

                      @wvrsm#52931 I know, no worries. I’m just trying to understand what the benefit wouldbe of the numpad vs the row of digits. 🤷‍♂️
                      It seems something is in place already, but apparently not for all countries. So I’d say there’s definitely room for improvement. 😃
